Alabama Solidifies Recruiting Dominance with Best Class Ever | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights

Per 247Sports, Bama's 2021 class had the highest marks since records started being kept in the 90s.

UGA once again finishes with a top 3 class. Kirby doing work. For perspective.....by the numbers, this was the second best class that Kirby has recruited since he arrived at UGA. UGA only had 20 signees in this class. 80% were early enrollees (yes, 16 of those 20 are already on campus and practicing with the team).

Notable surprises.....

Mack Brown finishes with UNC at #14, 3 spots ahead of Texas

Maryland finishes in the top 20 at #19

Looks like Oregon will record the highest rated class in the PAC 12 for the 3rd year in a row. MC and his staff doing work on the trail.

My thoughts about each Conference:

ACC:
- Clemson, once again, brings in the best class.
- Miami did really well bring in some really high end talent. UNC has a good, deep class as well.
- Florida State didn't land a single top 30 player from the state of Florida. That won't be good enough for Norvell.
- Virginia Tech not bringing in a single 4 star recruit is shocking.

Big Ten:
- Buckeye is separating themselves from the rest of the league, even more so.
- I know I'm going to sound crazy but I like what Michigan is doing right now. It may not show up in 2021 but I think they are the team to potentially challenge Ohio State in the Big Ten.
- Maryland is quietly building something. Locksley has a QB, some talented WRs and now he's picking up some nice defensive players.
- Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota are recruiting higher caliber players than they used to, the west will only get tougher.

Big 12:
- Huge gap in recruiting between Oklahoma and Texas and even a bigger gap between those two and everyone else.
- OU is very close to breaking through IMO.
- Huge question is whether Sark can get Texas back on track in the 2022 class.
- I'm surprised Iowa State didn't take a step forward on the trail after some on field success.

PAC 12:
- Oregon finishes with the top class for the 3rd year in a row.
- USC's recruiting gets back on track with a top 10 finish.
- It's shocking to see how far UW has dropped off on the trail. I don't think it shows up on the field until 2022, however.

SEC:
- Bama is the best example of the rich getting richer
- Georgia is obviously recruiting at a very high level, as close to Alabama as one can get honestly
- Florida is hitting the portal hard, could be a good strategy if they can't recruit traditionally as well as Alabama and Georgia
- Texas A&M is setting themselves up nicely, just need a QB.
- Next year is huge for LSU. They had a great class again but a lot of top players transferred.

Meh, Norvell gets a pass this years as he went heavy on the transfers to flip the culture quick and he’s still getting his feet under him in this state and was badly hampered by Covid. He’s in on several in-state prospects for 2022 and that will be a make or break class.

Glad Bama dodged the bullet. Building depth after all the losers that leave for the NFL each year must be a struggle.

Like I said, he has to do better moving forward. FSU can't compete at the level they want to compete at if they can't keep some in-state talent. It was surprising, even when Florida State struggled recently, they've still recruited well.

Thank you for reporting on the recruiting angle. That's obviously where it all begins. Top-100 should make every team represented competitive for the foreseeable future. Should there ever be a time (a la NFL) when every tram has s good recruiting class (and I think we might be approaching such a day) assuming it happens, and admittedly there's still a lot of work to do, at that point (whenever it should be) we can invite everyone to the dance! It obviously starts with recruiting. I'm not surprised about Maryland. Mike Locksley is a terrible coach (evidenced by his tulmoltuous tenure at New Mexico. But s PHENOMENAL recruiter! He's a great recruiter. F.W.i.W.
