Not Dabo, he was a consistent 8 wins a year coach until forced to accept the assistant coaches that turned the program around.

People have short memories. In Dabo's first 5 seasons he had 21 losses. Kirby has 9 in his first 5, yet some think Kirby should be on the hot seat if he doesn't win it all this year. Hell, Dabo didn't win it all until his 9th season, but every pundit in CFB says he's a much better HC than Kirby.

I had a crusty old master chief tell me one time, “ you don’t have to know what you’re doing to be successful, but you do have to surround yourself with people that do know what they’re doing”. In my opinion, one of the reasons that Alabama has been so successful under Nick Saban is the fact that he surrounds himself with the right coordinators and demand that they do their job. Kirby has carried that philosophy with him to Georgia, and Dabo is doing the same thing at Clemson.

Which is why BAMA has been on such a historic run. Nick finds good staff AND he knows what he's doing also.
