Meh… we were never a basketball school anywayI know its bball, but still...
Nate Oats became one of the hottest coaches in America last winter, leading Alabama to SEC regular season and conference tournament championships. The Crimson Tide lost to UCLA in overtime in the Sweet 16. Since then it’s been a mixed bag of results from Tuscaloosa.
Herb Jones and John Petty finally completed their eligibility. To replace the super seniors, Oats found a a five-star recruit, JD Davison, and pulled a transfer from Texas Tech, Nimari Burnett. He convinced Jahvon Quinerly to return for another season, but the same cannot be said for two others.
Josh Primo and Jaden Shackelford declared for the NBA Draft. Primo kept his name in the pool, while Shackelford decided to return to the college ranks, just not at Alabama. According to Jeff Goodman, the Crimson Tide’s leading scorer in 2021 has entered the transfer portal.
As a sophomore, Shackelford averaged 14 points per game and shot 41% from the field. The 6-foot-3 wing threw in 3.8 rebounds and two assists per game in 33 contests. Shackelford earned Second Team All-SEC honors at the season’s conclusion.
For those keeping track at home, Oats will have to replace all five starters from Alabama’s best basketball team since 2004.

A dealer could hire a player for season. Buy a car from us and get a personal ride with "star player" and his autograph on your car.I wonder if these kids are going to get an NIL deal from dealerships?
Former LSU Starting left tackle Dare Rosenthal chose the Kentucky Wildcats.

Lewis will be the starter a UK for QB. The RB and line situation should be solid. We shall see. Looking forward to being 2nd in the East!Looks like UGA was the overall winner of the portal with 3 in the top 10. Tennessee was definitely the overall loser with 3 in the top 10 and 5 of the top 21. Oklahoma did very well with 4 of the top 25 including 2 top tens. It's interesting to note that 3 of Oklahoma's transfer players came from Tennessee. Kentucky could see the biggest impact of all transfers with the addition of Wan'Dale Robinson who was Nebraska's leading WR last season. Coen is gonna throw the ball in Lexington and he's got a few options in his QB room to work with, most notably Will Levis from Penn State.
Yeah, I'm not feeling one bit sorry for UGA!!View attachment 6428
