To All Bronco6G Members,

PLEASE BE AWARE of a common scam taking place on Bronco6G and other forums. This involves a new user (typically one who has joined recently with no posts or little post history), sending unsolicited private messages to other users, telling you to email someone for a part that you're interested in purchasing.

The scammer will then show you fake (but credible) photos of the product and have you send money for it. Of course, the part is never delivered and the Paypal account is closed down to avoid chargebacks.

If you receive ANY unsolicited private messages asking you to contact someone regarding the purchase of parts, REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY (using the Report function at the bottom of the message). This will help us weed out these scammers so they don't harm anyone else on the forum

Thank you for your help and always use your best judgment when purchasing parts from any individual!


We do our best to keep this place clean of the BS, but thought I'd give all y'all the heads up,,,

Really? Interesting that many have to be told this. Unless you're a teeny bopper and new to the wild wild web, one should understand this by now.

Yeah, well, not everyone has had the opportunity to become cynical. As we grow, I wanted to put it out there for any of the noobs we attract. Protecting posters is job 1. It's why I am banished from rivals. I wear that as a badge of honor.. The best of the best are now here. Have not had an issue more than eliminating a post here and there, and explaining to the poster why I did it. I am thrilled to be here as your Mod where job 1 is job 1...

Best of the best? Then how do you account for me?
 
As BS as it was. This was a big part of the reasoning that after the board remKe on Rivals that messaging was suspended on free accounts to reduce this kind of bot interaction. At one point we tried to link the white listing to messaging as well. But they opted not to do that. Because well... money of course

I had a ton of respect for you, before the rivals fallout. Because of how you handled yourself. Even keeled.
Wasn't real sure what to expect when I got to meet you at @OldDevilDawg wedding.
What I saw was, the same even keeled dude. Mellow, relaxed, and enjoyable to talk with.
So glad I was able to make that trip.

Cynical? I'm gonna use a vulgar phrase now so cover your eyes. How about-----COMMON SENSE?

Even before I first signed up to get online back in 01 I understood being careful.

Had a few great mentors. @DickC, @Big 8 Rules, and @Nitt1300. None of them took me "under their wing" but their example of how to do it right resonated with me... RIP DickC, see you on the other side...
