College Gameday will be in Athens for the matchup with Arkansas.

Pittman, who has maintained his appreciation for Smart since returning to Arkansas, did so again Monday.

“I learned a lot from Coach. I mean, a lot about practice organization, a lot about assistants—I don’t know if pressure is the word—but putting demands on assistant coaches to be the best they can be. Obviously recruiting. You know, Coach, all he wants to do is win,” Pittman said. “I mean, he’s going to treat people right and all that. I certainly don’t mean that (he doesn’t). But he’s at his alma mater and he wants to win for the state of Georgia, the University of Georgia. I mean, you’ve got to respect all that. His kids, they play extremely hard.

“You don’t find many teams that are playing extremely hard that don’t have high respect for the head coach. They do, and I was very fortunate to be there four years and learn from him.”

Georgia has the best defense I’ve seen since 1992. They’re special. I don’t think the hogs can generate enough offense to win this one.
Dunno. After four games:

UAB................................................79th
South Carolina.........................116th
Clemson.....................................121st
Vandy...........................................123d

Arkansas' total offense is ranked 20th...

Go back and read everything I've posted in this thread. I ain't wearing the red n black glasses. While I will argue to the death that UGA broke Clemson, my concern since that game has and will be that UGA hasn't left the ones in long enough for them to be prepared for a 4 quarter game.

Georgia and number 4 is made to wreck the ground game. And Arky needs to pound the ball. So this is a terrible match up for Arky.

I still think Arky is going to have a very respectful 8 or 9 win season which is amazing for them right now. I don't think this will be a match much longer than half time

Arky has a pretty respectable passing game. Jefferson has thrown for 844 yards in 4 games on top of his 230 yards rushing. He's top 10 in the SEC in both categories while beating 2 top 25 teams. UGA and JT Daniels look really good in the Sunday morning highlights, but your perspective ain't swaying my opinion that this game will be a brutal fight.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart credits Hogs' turnaround to having coordinators that are giving other teams fits preparing.
In just 14 games Sam Pittman has turned No. 8 Arkansas football from the bottom of the barrel to people actually talking championships.

He did it the way the Razorbacks have always done it.

Going back to when Frank Broyles finally got a phone call from John Barnhill in 1958 to come to Fayetteville, the Hogs have always won big following the same formula:

• Some good players who play great.

• Having early success playing a schedule where early wins provide confidence and drive fans into a frenzy.

• Getting the breaks every team needs to win a game here and there.

• Experienced leadership within the team.

• Great coaching that drives opponents crazy trying to figure out what's coming.

It doesn't matter what successful year you want to talk about in the last 63 years, those are the ingredients in every big season.

"Man, I got some good coaches now," Pittman said after Saturday's 20-10 win over Texas A&M that launched the Hogs into the national spotlight.

Razorbacks quarterback KJ Jefferson is the only player in the SEC and one of only six players nationwide with over 800 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. The redshirt sophomore also leads the nation in average yards per completion (18.4) and ranks second in yards per attempt (10.8).
Arkansas ranks 11th in the nation in scoring defense (14.5 points per game allowed) and 12th in total defense (267.3 yards). As a result, the Razorbacks have outscored their opponents 34-0 in the first quarter.

The Razorbacks had 307 total yards against the Aggies in the first half alone, which was the most yards in a half put up against a Top 10 team in 15 seasons.
