All things baseball discussed here.

I might be a bit biased since I live in South Georgia and I'm very familiar with Mercer. Having watched their season, however, I am convinced they could take 2 out of 3 versus a minimum of 10 teams that made it in.
I watched a couple of their games and seen highlights. In my opinion should have been a strong 3 seed at the least even as an at large bid.

Seems like power conference money is creeping in to college baseball like football and basketball.

Oregon State has a legitimate complaint for not being a host for regional and Mercer being left out is a crime. I like watching all Louisiana college teams but Mercer deserved a bid over ULL.

Back in the day when Augie was there I like to watch him. He wasn't PC but an excellent coach. I still watch some of this reels or videos
Yeah Augie was the man. That 05 team will always be my favorite. Still watch the reels of him chewing out the guys. The comments are hilarious of those that say it was unnecessary and shows he couldn't coach. The man won 1,975 games for goodness sakes. I loved his small ball style & reason why I stick to the tball & coach pitch ages as some of the older rec leagues put rules against his style around here. I'll have to check as my kids get older.

Last night the Houston Astros threw a combined no hitter against the Texas Rangers. It's the first MLB no hitter since September 2024.

He knew his players and he knew the game.

I tell individuals all the time baseball is like church many attend but few truly understand.😁

You sir are unamerican.

Its America's pastime. It'a a thinking mans game and is by far a more mental game than football or basketball. The mindset of a team sport until you step into the batters box. It's the grind of a long season, the double header games, the perfect game, 6-4-3 double play. An inside the park HR ( that's more yards than a football field). It's the 100+ mph fastball, the curve , the knuckleball and numerous other things. Individuals from all walks of life from all over the world play. Short or tall, physically fit or large framed. It's buying a program filling the the line up and keeping the book of the game.

It is true the game has changed / evolved over time both for the good and the bad.

The worst line that any individual in a movie ever said was by Tom Selleck in Mr. Baseball " I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball player".

It is a game I fell in love with at around age 5 or 6 and played through my sophomore year of college. I've coach my kids and numerous others and did so for free, summer leagues, fall ball and a few travel years as my oldest was in middle school.

Mr Cub Ernie Banks said it best "the sun is out the sky is blue let's play two".

No, really...

I'm honestly not a huge baseball guy compared to football but I will watch it (college more so than MLB) depending on the time of year. Right now is the sweet spot with the college tournament as only NBA & NHL playoffs are really interfering & maybe racing here & there. I've noticed watching in person can drag depending on the situation. Like posted you have to delve into the thinking & strategy part. I'm partial to small ball style. Like all sports you have to find something to appreciate and some make it easier than others.

You say, "step into the batter's box". I say, "step foot on the mound". In either case, you just became your own best friend, or your own worst enemy. You are on an island alone. Help ain't coming. Clear the mechanism and get your shit together.

Small ball is becoming a lost art in today's game. Nothing like a hit and run or a suicide squeeze.
