All things baseball discussed here.

UGA won without leadoff hitter Tre Phelps who was suspended for the game. He got suspended for "taunting" in last week's regional championship win over Liberty. It was a bit controversial as Phelps was actually pointing at his family who was sitting directly above Liberty's dugout.

Karma won the day.

Michael O'Shaughnessy who was the MVP. O'Shaugnessy finished with two home runs and five RBIs total, but it was his three-run shot in the bottom of the eighth inning that stood out the most as it gave Georgia their 13-12 lead that they held onto in the top of the ninth. O'Shaugnessy wasn't supposed to play in this game though, but Tre Phelps' controversial ejection last weekend in the Athens Regional led him to play against Mississippi State and be the hero that Georgia needed.
I knew they were missing a player but wasn't sure which one ( is he the 2nd baseman ?) I'd watched a couple innings, had to run some errands and when I got home I seen the score.

I do like y'all's 3rd baseman and catcher.

Phelps is simply listed as IF, but he's spent most of the season at 3B. UGA tries to make all of their infielders capable at multiple positions. It increases their chances of being a utility infielder in the bigs.
