Compare these “sanctions” to the bowl ban and scholarship losses Mizzou was hit with over the rogue tutor. Good to remember that this KU stuff was driven by an FBI investigation.
Report: IARP announces ruling for KU men’s basketball investigation

Yep. The most outrage I recall from the Mizzou saga came from the comparisons to the UNC closure with zero repercussions.Rogue tutor? UNC had fake classes set up in a sketchy department just for athletes and a few "regular" students (read big donors' kids and whatnot) and were giving out fake degrees (for YEARS). What happened there? Well, they told their accrediting body that it was an athletic issue and they told the NCAA that it was an academic issue and that it wasn't just for athletes because it was available to "regular" students as well. So instead of getting, at least, put on probation, or even losing accreditation from their accrediting body and/or receiving NCAA sanctions......they got nothing. It's like it never even happened.
If you're curious, just query Rashad McCants and deans list.......
"Moreover, McCants was on the dean's list in the spring of 2005 despite not going to class. According to McCants, coach Roy Williams knew about it. "I remained eligible to finish out and win the championship, his first championship, and everything was peaches and cream," McCants told Outside the Lines"
And an administration willing to double down and triple down on their bets.Gotta have good alumni lawyers.
