Y’all have the luxury of rooting for the undisputed best team in all of CFB year in and year out. Good on you but good lord, y’all lose your shit if you’re leading by less than 21 points at any time in any game. You guys simply have no clue how to handle a loss. I suppose it’s spoiled kid syndrome. I truly like most Bama posters but this is just an obvious observation. Rome fell and one day, Tuscaloosa will too. Have a great day!

I love seeing you post @septimusgreen, I hope you'll come around more often :),, I'm gonna try to explain, Most of us (Bama fans) on this board are older, we remember the Mikes, (price, dubose, shula) We remember a time when we did not go into every game expecting to win, and the only consideration was whether we played close to perfection or not. Hell, I can remember praying just to get bowl eligible.. The year before Saban came to Bama, I think 06, we did not have a single player drafted in the draft.

We remember from our Youth, the Bryant coached Bama teams that won National Championships and chased perfection yearly. We were fortunate that we got to have that, but then along came Saban, I think he went 7-5 that first year,, but we could tell something was up, something was changing, We knew the following year when we opened up with Clemson, came in to that game and for the first time in a long time we saw a Bama team that we had all been hoping to see again,, smash mouth running game and a defense that flew to the ball and was tough as hell..

I wont recap the last 12 years,, but its been magical, and freaking awesome.. what you see as losing our shit is us recognizing a chink in the armor, Its that chase of perfection that makes us critique the individual units, or some flaws that may be problematic down the stretch. Last nights game, I saw Tennessee's defensive front contain our running backs for the most part, I saw busted coverages in the secondary, I saw our O line pretty much taking a night off.. dropped passes, and forcing our SMALLISH QB to have to run the ball. and a special teams mistake that cost us 7 points...

so yeah, I guess we do kind of lose our shit when our team doesnt play up to par.. kinda disagree that we dont know how to handle a loss, we do, we just dont like too.

All of the above! I personally get more fired up and keyed up during the TENNESSEE game than any other game. Auburn is a close second. I don’t just want to beat them bastardized puke ass pumpkin looking garbage convention rejects, I want to destroy them. I want to remove the program from existence. I want the stadium burned to the ground and a parking lot built on the site. Have I mentioned I HATE TENNESSEE?
All that being said, I think most of us are as bought into Nick Sabans “process” as the players. Do your job, be process driven, not result driven. When you see glaring mistakes, such as we saw last night with all the defensive busts, it pisses us (me) off.
When the other guy makes a good play, tip your hat and move on to the next play. When that play is the result of someone NOT doing their job, or making a huge mental error it drives me insane.
Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know, I HATE TENNESSEE!

Just wait. At some point there will be a fall from grace.

Now rather it is a more of an Ohio St step. Or a Clemson dive off a cliff.

It will be good for football overall to stop seeing every other 5* at one school.
It happens to all programs eventually. Casual fans, and the younger fans don’t understand that. I’ll enjoy the ride until the last stop, and proudly support Bama regardless. This team is honestly overachieving. They are extremely young, and learning on the fly. Regardless of how this season ends, they will be MUCH better next year.
The next dynasty team imo is UGA. Kirby has created a monster over there, and once he gets over the hump and wins his first natty, more will follow.

Georgia has more 5 stars than Bama.

I meant to add also, that stars alone don’t tell the whole story. They have to be a fit for your program as well. In recent years, Saban has changed tactics a little bit, and has been evaluating character as much as talent. There are many examples of highly talented and lauded players who never played a down due to character issues that left the program. Kirby is doing a fantastic job, but stars are only part of the equation.

Yeah, I could provide a long list of names but here's just one example: Zach Evan's was the #1 RB coming out of HS a couple of years back. After he got suspended from his team multiple times his senior year, Kirby gave his LOI back to him.

Even Saban misses sometimes. Agiye Hall is an incredible talent, but a headcase. He didn’t show up last night due to being in the dog house, and is all about himself and not the team. I’ll be shocked if he ever plays a down in Crimson.

I was a student at the Capstone 2000-2004. We were dogshit back then. Went 3-9 my freshman year. During my time there we had 4 coaches- Dubose (fired), Franchione (rat jumped ship), Price(scandal and fired) and Shula. I know all too well what it’s like to not be good. That is why we freak out…we know what Saban has built has been a once ever situation, so when it ends….it’s gone forever.
