Belated Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone had a safe one.

Husband, daughter and I spent ours in the Custer County Jail for protesting on the 3rd. Anyone in AIM regalia were arrested, whether peacefully protesting or not. And no, the protests were not specifically due to Trump's visit. We protest every year around the 4th for the return of Paha Sapa to the people.

Just got released today. Something else I now have in common with Dad and Mom, spent time in Custer Co. jail courtesy of the FBI.

Think of the jail from the Andy Griffith Show. That is basically what the Custer Co. jail is. After having worked and lived in the refugee camps in Syria the last 1/2 yr or so, this was pretty easy. It was just a bunch of us AIM Indians from Pine Ridge, Standing Rock and Rosebud Rezes in there.

Just the Federal Bureau of Intimidation trying to do just that, intimidate us. It has been this way since the late 60s and early 70s.

Not a bad girl, just try to live like Dad taught me - "If you believe in something, believe in it enough to sacrifice for it", words worth living by in my humble opinion.

You are among friends, as you know. Bunch of us know that among those who serve , all give some and some give all. This is why your father is beloved by all of us, and you as well. Does not mean that we agree on everything, but we have paid the price to have our opinions respected. May the creator of us all bless us and keep us close to his heart....
