I know you are an "anti-capitalist" and I've thought about how to respond to your post in the pit.

But let me ask you this.... He created something.... How do you fairly counter that? Honest question.... By force? Shut him down? By competition? Work hard? By abstinence? Avoid his product?

These are not rhetorical. These are real questions.

And when you say "anarchy".... Keep in mind... It's easy to destroy something... Hard to build it...

Also, let me ask.... Who "horded" that money from the market? Was it Besos? Or was it the people who bought stuff from him instead of from mom&pop places? Did he hold a gun to their head?
I buy from mom&pop when it makes sense, even if it's more, on principle. The blame goes to the consumer, not the supplier. Econ 101 bro

The only reason I do not shop at Walmart is because I hate waiting in line, large gatherings of people, and they do not have a in house butcher. I go to Mack's Meats.

Yep but I can't fault someone who wants to squeeze out some dollars and go to Walmart. That is their right. I will say most level headed capitalist have the thought process of philanthropy. But it is their right if they choose not to.

Agreed, like I said not arguing that. I am just happy that philanthropy can go head and head with capitalism. Many things can have a mutual relationship. The absence of evidence isn't the evidence of absence. Which we do have anecdotal evidence of it going hand and hand.

That's not exactly correct. Much blame does go to the supplier. Big box stores have buying power because of volume. They pay a much lower price and therefore, can sell the same product at a much lower price. Sometimes, they can sell a product cheaper than the Mom n Pops can buy it. That's why many "Mom n Pops" go buy stuff at Wallyworld to stock their shelves.

Sure... I get that. But is price the only influencing factor of the buyer? We both know that answer is no. If it were I would concede your point.

He did create it, and the business as it sits is a whole conundrum as well and we can discuss that too.

I hate Jeff and I hate his business because so much of his later "risks" were paid for and insured by us average everyday taxpayers in the forms of tax rebates wherein he and his business through lobbying didn't pay a single red cent in tax.

I get mad when there's a system in place that granted, I loathe, still makes us abide by it when corporations and people like him don't have to.

I'm sick of watching guys like him get wealthier WHILE receiving the people's tax money. I work hard for my family and if it's going to be redistributed, if rather see it feed a poor struggling family or help with a small federal business loan, not pay for Jeff Bezos to take a "risk" that he'll never lose on.

I'm not anti capitalist, I'm anti whatever the hell we call this abortion of an economic system which is at true odds with real capitalism and the words of the father of capitalism, Adam Smith.

Also, I'm much more about the barter system and agrarian system but it is what it is there lol

The more appropriate question would be...."But is price the most influencing factor of the buyer?" IMO, the answer is a resounding yes. There are a shitload more people in this country that are paycheck to paycheck counting pennies than there are people that own their own homes.

There's a difference between taking from the tax coffers and not putting in. I may be wrong, but to my knowledge - Bezos and Amazon haven't received any government money. No bailouts etc.

Now, have they gotten some sweetheart deals with tax credits etc - yes. But there are reasons that incentives like that are floated to large corporations. AOC was a fool to run Amazon and their plans for their second HQ out of her district. And the reason is her actions actually hurt the average Joe. Simply put - Amazon creates jobs. AOC turned away thousands of good paying jobs in her district because she didn't want to give Amazon a tax incentive to build there. That's bad policy - and bad economics. The thousands of jobs, good paying 6 figure jobs, would have generated more tax revenue than the corporate tax credits would have waived. She didn't understand the basic economics of her actions, and it cost her constituents.

Large corporations like Amazon are built on hundreds of thousands of voluntary interactions. If you have a beef with how big Amazon is then your beef is also with the hundreds of thousands of people who have voluntarily interacted with them. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to use Amazon products and services.

Now, if you want to discuss bail-outs and "too large to fail" then I'll probably be right there next to you. That shit flies in the face of capitalism.
