There's a difference between taking from the tax coffers and not putting in. I may be wrong, but to my knowledge - Bezos and Amazon haven't received any government money. No bailouts etc.
Now, have they gotten some sweetheart deals with tax credits etc - yes. But there are reasons that incentives like that are floated to large corporations. AOC was a fool to run Amazon and their plans for their second HQ out of her district. And the reason is her actions actually hurt the average Joe. Simply put - Amazon creates jobs. AOC turned away thousands of good paying jobs in her district because she didn't want to give Amazon a tax incentive to build there. That's bad policy - and bad economics. The thousands of jobs, good paying 6 figure jobs, would have generated more tax revenue than the corporate tax credits would have waived. She didn't understand the basic economics of her actions, and it cost her constituents.
Large corporations like Amazon are built on hundreds of thousands of voluntary interactions. If you have a beef with how big Amazon is then your beef is also with the hundreds of thousands of people who have voluntarily interacted with them. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to use Amazon products and services.
Now, if you want to discuss bail-outs and "too large to fail" then I'll probably be right there next to you. That shit flies in the face of capitalism.
