Rented wins are rented wins no doubt.

At least ND is willing to do it against schools that at least have the same number of scholarships and practice rules instead of playing against a team that is inferior without the option of being better. Playing against FCS is a problem when you are trying to create a tier 1 and 2 system. The reason FBS left and made their own so many years ago was because there was vastly too many schools. And the haves vs the have nots was ruining competition and getting players hurt. Georgia wants to rent a win. Cool. Pick a FBS school to do it with

ND has been doing a MAC game a year which I actually think is cool. The New Mexico game was because of a scheduling hole from a previous 1 and done opponent that was at a neutral site. I believe Army when they played a couple years ago.

Thing is, though....as a fan of ALL CFB, I have learned over the years that even those teams with only 63 schollys can compete on a higher level than the bottom dwellers of the "holier than thou" 85s.

It's a cute and credible claim, but it lacks the "better than you are" aura.

To me if you are playing a school that isn’t even on the same set of rules. Why not just play JUCO teams? I mean they have athletes that are good enough to play D1 we see the transfers every year.

The reasoning for playing FCS schools is to pay for their programs. Well. You already have schools in the FBS that could use that, that have to keep up ticket sales, cost of scholarship etc. I would rather see the MAC and similar schools on the slate than the Savannah St of the world

Would it be "OK" to schedule the top 25 in FCS? They ain't too shabby. I mean, This year's Georgia Southern would lose to a number of Georgia Southern teams from their FCS/1AA years. That they are FBS now doesn't change anything.

Was looking at results from last week by the way. And wanted to call out Bowling Green that is on your list there.

After getting blown out 52-0 by ND in a game that could have easily been twice as bad. They rallied back the following week, played Toledo as 4 TD underdogs and won 20 - 7. Now mind you Toledo isn't burning the world down. But that is a Toledo team with a win against BYU, and Western Michigan.

Sometimes stats don't tell the story.
