Some of these schools need to be careful. Fire too many coaches in a short amount of time and no one will want to even take the job if they are not given enough time to develop their program. Not saying any of the recent firings are after short tenures, just a thought.

Always gonna be someone who is gonna take that big money. It seems to be working out fine for the coaches with the big buyouts. The ADs are fools, the coaches are the winners.

Mark Stoops firing at UK is perplexing. I get he has underperformed the last several years, but wonder if it is a UK problem or a Stoops problem.
I think he is a good coach, but wonder if there record indicates a lack of support from above or if he got bored and sated with his bank account.

Even UK cant take back 2 back 4-5 and 5-5 seasons with an ending of the season to depleted UL 41-0. Welcome to Will Stein, OC for Oregon. Hopefully we can now score more than 30 pts on the regular. Best of luck to Stoops, after 13 years (longest tenure in SEC currently) , it was just time to part ways. He was top 10 in national salaries. Not perplexing. Makes a hell of a lot more sense than some other firings this season. Nobody here hates Stoops, just like Coach Cal, it was time to move on. Stoops knew it, we all knew it. No blindsiding here.

I agree, he needed to go. My question was more about what happened to him mentally. How does one go from a 10 game winner to 41-0.
