More against less...

DISAPPOINTING: SEC VS. THE WORLD
The SEC might still be the king, but the crown on the head is ajar.

The conference started the season 3-6 against Power Five opponents, the worst start since 2002, with Alabama's loss to Texas as the most notable. The SEC bounced back in Week 4 and is now 5-7, but who would have thought the SEC's only teams with wins against ranked opponents would be Mizzou and Ole Miss?

Six of the SEC's seven losses were by double digits. Even the wins against low-tier opponents have raised eyebrows. Auburn rallied in a late-night defensive battle against Cal, a four-win team a year ago. Kentucky struggled to hold off FCS Eastern Kentucky for a 28-17 win. Mississippi State needed a plus-4 turnover margin and overtime to beat Arizona, a team picked by the media to finish eighth in the Pac-12, at home.

Now, the SEC's programs turn their attention to each other in conference play. Other than Georgia, is there a powerhouse in the conference this fall?

Maybe, the SEC should start scheduling high school teams like Washington?

The $EC plays the least amount of regular season P5 teams of all the P5 conferences. Only two $EC teams play 10 regular season P5 teams and that is Florida (Utah & FSU) and South Carolina (UNC @ neutral site & Clemson).

Now let's do Tennessee.

Tennessee OOC schedule: Virginia (P5) @ neutral site, Austin Peay (FCS), UTSA (G5), UCONN (G5) Nov 4th?

Pay wall: Find it at KSL.com

I edited that post with the KSL link but I'd like to know how you knew about the KSL thing seeing how I've been payingose who don't for Mercury News for over a decade now just so I could read Wilner's power rankings.
I get Wilner's insights in an email, hit the pay wall everytime. KSL is a partner. For those who don't know, Wilner is the best PAC reporter out there...

I like Wilner's stuff but he's been going off the deep end ever since everyone decided to leave the PAC. He sided with Cal and Stanford .. probably because he's a bay area guy and he's got it in big time for USC seeing how USC was the biggest a$$hole of the bunch when it came to shady sh1t in regards to leaving. He's yet to condemn the PAC school presidents who kept pushing their woke ESG bs.

Washington got hosed. They should have went back further.

Gil Dobie era (1908–1916)
Gil Dobie left North Dakota Agricultural and became Washington's head coach in 1908. Dobie coached for nine remarkable seasons at Washington, posting a 58–0–3 record.[13] Dobie's career comprised virtually all of Washington's NCAA all-time longest 64-game unbeaten streak[13] (outscoring opponents 1930–118) and included a 40-game winning streak, second longest in NCAA Division I-A/FBS history.[3] In 1916, Washington and three other schools formed the Pacific Coast Conference, predecessor to the modern Pac-12 Conference. In Dobie's final season at Washington, his 1916 team won the PCC's inaugural conference championship. Dobie was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951 as a charter member.
