College Opener Thoughts

Three Teams, three football thoughts...
1. Georgia is no "One and Done". Look for the Bulldogs to make the CFP again.
2. Utah's Utes are favored at Florida by 2.5 points on Sept 3rd. I look for a cover and win "if" they have the depth to withstand the unbearable heat and overcome the crowd and nerves early. I've been to the "Swamp", it's tough.
3. If Kentucky remains healthy, especially at QB with Levis, they will be a TRUE contender in the East, and the SEC Championship.

Good first post, bro. Was nice meeting you in Boone and welcome aboard!!! Great to have another UK fan here (and a great guy).

1. Please don’t lose by less than a touchdown because of a kicking fuckup on a soccer field in Ireland.....

2. Please let me win the majority of my bets....

3. Fantasy team needs to be productive.....don’t want to lose in week one.

Other than that I don’t really give a shit....

I hope USC and UCLA lose all their games this season other than a tie when they play each other while Washington wins the PAC. I guess that's more of a seasonal thought.

Give us some pics of the current coach that is going to win a Natty at Washington....honestly enjoyed them on the other sites and lost track after Lake (I think was after Peterson)...

1. The Dawgs are almost always in contention for the CFP... they recruit well and have the pieces on their coaching staff as well, in the past they have always been one game away from making a run, it seems. I would expect the same this year. It just wont be as easy it some may think. I am thinking they will give some defenses nightmares with all those TE's they have but the big boys will find their own answers to that so I expect the Dawgs will win a lot of games just due their depth and coaching. Some may not be pretty but they have the horses to be a factor against anyone in any game.

2. I would not bet on Florida at this point simply due to it being such an early game in the season. Home field will certainly give them a warm fuzzy but they have issues and I am not sure if they can overcome those issues that early in the season.

3. Stoops has done an excellent job at UK. They will again have a nice run this season imo... can they beat teams like up and coming UT or SC while staying focused on Georgia? They should, but those games tend to go 50/50 depending on momentum, and the psyche of the team on that weekend. I would say off hand that Stoops will have his guys ready to compete at a high level, and every team that plays them should take them seriously... will they have a 9, 10 or 11 win season? I think that's a coin flip, considering that the SECE is becoming more competitive with the resurgence of UT and SC, not to mention that the Dawgs will be ready for another championship campaign.

Well said and agreed. The Cats have S.C.'s and Missouri's number, but Tennessee is another matter. The Vols have found their Coach and now need depth. Hooker is an NFL caliber QB. Until the Cats figure out the Vols and not lay that one egg of uninspired FB that they do EVERY year, they cannot be an SEC Champ Team...

This year is for the boys in orange!!!
It very well could be. I know you sure have owned us since we joined the league. I would love for Neal to give us the season we expect (no one else does) this year, and for our match to mean something at the end of the year. Maybe you will be flying high after your Bedlam win and we can sneak one past you.

I am 100% terrified of that WVU game this season. Massive trap for us.

This gives me an idea for a thread.

UGA is gonna hang around for years to come. Kirby solidified an established foundation that Richt built. His recruiting, his relentless work, and his love of his Alma Mater has taken UGA to the top of the mountain and he intends to make the rest of the world play that old kid's game "king of the mountain" from the slopes looking up.

Utah is currently my #4 in the CFP

Kentucky has a couple of humps that they still need to get beyond. Stoops has done an incredible job and the CFB world has taken notice. The talent, depth, and coaching, this season, might be the best that Stoops has had since his arrival in Lexington. If Kentucky can get past the mental block versus the swamp lizards, the Dawgs versus Cats in Lexington November 19th could be a CFB Gameday location for the matchup of top 10 teams. I won't lie, I think that is my biggest concern for my Dawgs shot at an undefeated regular season. If Kentucky makes it there undefeated, it will be one helluva game for the nation to watch.

Although we have slowly and steadily improved over the last decade, I do not feel we can make it to the Ga. Game undefeated. Every year we come out flat and play one uninspired game. Every year. Week 2 and Florida will set the season tone. We have no QB if Levis gets hurt. Talk about a way to ruin a season, uggggh...
