Graded out at 92 percent with two knockdown blocks following Saturday’s 59-7 win over Boston College • Helped Clemson exceed both 300 yards passing and 300 yards rushing in a single game for the fifth time under Dabo Swinney • Clemson outgained Boston College, 674-177, and the 497-yard differential was Clemson’s largest yardage differential against an ACC opponent in school history.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN – Jason Strowbridge, North Carolina, Sr., DT, Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Set a career high with 10 tackles in Saturday’s 20-17 win over Duke • Also had 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery against the Blue Devils.

LINEBACKER – Chazz Surratt, North Carolina, Jr., ILB, Denver, N.C.
In addition to registering a team-leading 12 tackles and one sack, Surratt made the goal-line interception with 14 seconds remaining that sealed Saturday’s 20-17 win over Duke • Surratt, a former quarterback, made the read and the pick as the Blue Devils attempted a halfback jump-pass for the potential winning score from the 2-yard line.

DEFENSIVE BACK – Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State, Jr., S, Concord, N.C.
Had a career-high 17 tackles in FSU’s 35-17 win over Syracuse • The 17 tackles are the most in a game for the Seminoles since 2005 • One of four ACC players with at least 17 tackles this season • Standout game versus the Orange included nine solo stops and his first career sack • Part of a defense that totaled seven sacks against Syracuse, the Seminoles’ most in a game since 2016.

SPECIALIST – Alex Kessman, Pitt, Jr., PK, Clarkston, Mich.
Accounted for all of Pitt’s points in Saturday’s 16-12 loss to Miami • Converted each of his four field goal attempts, including a 54-yarder • It marked his seventh career field goal of more than 50 yards, extending his own school record • Kessman, who owns the Heinz Field record for longest field goal by a professional or collegian (55 yards), has now kicked two field goals in the stadium longer than any by an NFL kicker (53 yards) • Became Pitt’s first kicker with four field goals in a game since Kevin Harper at Notre Dame on Nov. 3, 2012.

ROOKIE – Javian Hawkins, Louisville, R-Fr., RB, Titusville, Fla.
Rushed for 136 yards on 28 carries and scored two touchdowns in Saturday’s 28-21 win over Virginia • His 28 rushing attempts were a season-high • First Louisville player to rush for 100 yards in five consecutive home games • Third Cardinals’ freshman to have five 100-yard rushing games in a season (Lamar Jackson, 2015 and Victor Anderson, 2008) • Multiple-rushing touchdown game is the first of his career.

OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Kevin Mensah • UConn • Jr. • RB • Worcester, Mass.

Mensah rushed for 164 yards and a career-high five touchdowns — the most by an FBS player this season — in UConn’s 56-35 win at Massachusetts. Mensah’s first two touchdowns gave the Huskies the lead as he became the first UConn player with five rushing TDs in a game since the 1993 season.

Jamale Carothers • Navy • So. • FB • Bowling Green, Ky.
Carothers rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns and had a 31-yard touchdown reception to help Navy to a 41-38 win against Tulane, improving the Midshipmen to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in The American. Carothers scored all four touchdowns by Navy’s offense, converting runs of 52, 35, 31 and 15 yards.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Nelson • SMU • Sr. • LB • Chicago, Ill.

Nelson had seven tackles, 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble to help SMU to a 34-31 win at Houston, keeping the Mustangs unbeaten at 8-0 overall. Nelson’s strip sack early in the third quarter gave SMU the ball at the Houston 2-yard line, allowing the Mustangs to build a 28-13 lead.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bijan Nichols • Navy • Fr. • K • Heath, Texas

Nichols scored 11 points, including the game-winning field goal from 48 yards as time expired, to help Navy to a 41-38 win against Tulane. Nichols also connected on a 31-yard field goal to give Navy a 24-0 lead in the second quarter and was 5-for-5 on PATs to help the Midshipmen clinch bowl eligibility.

Offense: QB - Carter Stanley, Kansas (SR)
Stanley led Kansas to its first Big 12 win of the season by throwing for a season-high 415 yards and three touchdowns against Texas Tech. KU was 7-for-10 on third down in the second half, all on Stanley throws, including a 65-yard touchdown to Stephon Robinson and a 70-yard touchdown to Andrew Parchment on third and 21.

Defense: S - Malcolm Rodriguez, Oklahoma State (JR)
A pick-six by Rodriguez late in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winning touchdown as Oklahoma State edged Iowa State. The junior finished with 11 tackles to lead all players in the game and added a pass break up on a third-down play to force an Iowa State punt.

Special Teams: K - Liam Jones, Kansas (JR)
The kicker Jones gave Kansas the win over Texas Tech, hitting a 32-yard field goal as time expired. It was his first game-winning field goal as a Jayhawk. He also connected on four extra points.

Newcomer: QB - Max Duggan, TCU (FR)
Duggan completed a career-high 19 passes and threw for a career-best 273 yards in TCU's upset win over No. 15 Texas on Saturday. The freshman tossed a pair of touchdowns and ran for another score. His 11-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter sealed the game for the Horned Frogs.

J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State

  • Totaled 221 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Ohio State’s victory against Wisconsin
  • Rushed for 163 yards, averaged 8.1 yards per carry and scored twice to become the first Buckeye to top 1,000 yards rushing as a freshman, sophomore and junior
  • Added three catches for 58 yards in the contest, an average of 19.3 yards per reception

Offense: QB - Chris Reynolds, Charlotte (SO)
Reynolds set a new Charlotte school record for total offense, threw for the program’s most yards against an FBS opponent, had three touchdown passes of over 30 yards, ran for a 29-yard score and engineered a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback in the 49ers’ 39-38 victory over North Texas. His 34-yard TD pass to Victor Tucker in the end zone with 18 seconds capped a comeback that saw Charlotte rally from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit. Reynolds finished the day with a school-record 432 yards of total offense with career-bests of 336 passing and 96 rushing. His career-high 336 passing yards are the most by a 49er against an FBS opponent. The Mocksville, North Carolina, native is just the second Charlotte player to pass for over 300 yards in a game. His 52-yard TD pass to Tyler Ringwood to start the second half is the 49ers longest of the season. Trailing 35-21 in the 4th quarter, Reynolds engineered three fourth-quarter TD drives and threw TD passes of 31 and 34 yards, including the game-winner in the final 20 seconds.

Defense: CB - Kereon Merrell, Marshall (SR)
Merrell had a huge hand in staking the Thundering Herd to a two-touchdown, first-quarter lead in the Marshall’s 26-23 victory over WKU. The senior picked off a pass near midfield (his first career interception) and the Thundering Herd cashed that in for a touchdown on the ensuing drive. On the very next drive, Merrell fell on a loose ball in the WKU backfield near midfield (his second career fumble recovery) and Marshall scored three plays later to take a 14-0 lead just over eight minutes into Saturday’s action. Eight of the Vienna, Georgia, native’s 10 tackles were solos and he helped Marshall limit WKU to just a 5-for-13 clip on third down. This season, Merrell is Marshall’s fifth-leading tackler with 42 tops.

Special Teams: K - Justin Rohrwasser, Marshall (SR)
Rohrwasser had a huge day for the Thundering Herd, booting four field goals, including a game-winning, career-long 53-yarder as time expired to lift Marshall to a 26-23 win over WKU. During the game, he connected on a (then-) career-long 46 yarder in the second quarter, followed by kicks from 31 and 43 yards prior to the game-winner. The Clifton Park, New York, native also made two extra points for a 14-point day. His 53-yard field goal is tied for the fourth-longest made kick in school history, and tied for the third-longest made kick in Joan C. Edwards Stadium history. The 53-yarder is the longest in 217 games at Marshall, since Curtis Head made a kick of the same distance against Buffalo in 2002. Rohrwasser tied a school record with those four field goals, equaling the four made by four others, most recently Justin Haig (MVP vs. Louisiana Tech in the 2014 C-USA Championship Game). He is a perfect 11-for-11 on field goals this season, and has made 12 consecutive field goals dating back to last season.

East Division
Offensive Player of the Week: Ohio QB Nathan Rourke

Ohio senior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) posted a season-high 127 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 34-21 win at Ball State. Rourke was part of an offense that had a season-high 316 rushing yards. Rourke recorded his eighth career 100-yard rushing game and has now scored 44 career rushing touchdowns, which is good for third-most in program history. He extended his school record for career touchdowns responsible for to 96. Rourke scored the Bobcats' first touchdown from one yard out in the first quarter and their last from 12 yards out in fourth. On a tough day for passing the football, Rourke completed eight of his 16 attempts for 131 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week: Buffalo S Joey Banks
Buffalo senior safety Joey Banks (Sacramento, Calif.) had a game-high 10 tackles, one forced fumble and an interception to lead Buffalo to a 43-20 win over Central Michigan on Saturday. Banks forced a fumble early in the second quarter that teammate Kadofi Wright recovered at the Central Michigan 15-yard line. The Bulls cashed in one play later to take a 17-7 lead. In the fourth quarter, Banks notched his second interception of the season. The Bulls were able to convert that interception into a field goal. Nine of Banks’ 10 tackles in the game were solo stops.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Miami K Sam Sloman
Miami senior kicker Sam Sloman (Roswell, Ga) connected on three field goals in a 23-16 win at Kent State in a constant downpour. Sloman drilled kicks of 36, 41 and 28 yards. He also had four touchbacks and allowed just 21 return yards in six kickoffs.


West Division
Offensive Player of the Week: Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy

Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy (Indianapolis, Ind.) rushed for a career-high four touchdowns and 178 yards rushing in a 49-10 win over Bowling Green. Bellamy became the first Bronco with four rushing touchdowns since Jamauri Bogan vs. Bowling Green on Oct. 13, 2018. Bellamy rushed for nine-yard, 36-yard, 75-yard and 18-yard touchdowns. He has scored two or more touchdowns in five of nine games this year, including each of the last three contests. Bellamy has 15 career 100-yard rushing games, including six this season. His 178 yards are the second most in a game in his career, trailing only 213 against Ball State on November 13, 2018.

Defensive Player of the Week: Western Michigan LB Treshaun Hayward
Western Michigan junior linebacker Treshaun Hayward (Ypsilanti, Mich.) anchored a defense with 13 tackles and three tackles for loss in a 49-10 win over Bowling Green. Hayward has posted double-digit tackles in seven of the last eight games. He leads the Broncos with 106 tackles, becoming the first Bronco with 100+ tackles in a season since Robert Spillane with 111 tackles in 2016. Hayward and the Broncos held the Falcons to 121 yards in the first half and just three total yards in the fourth quarter.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Toledo KR Ronnie Jones
Toledo senior kick returner Ronnie Jones (Pittsburgh, Pa.) returned a kickoff 48 yards in a 37-34 (OT) win over Eastern Michigan. Jones had a 48-yard kickoff return to open the second half for the Rockets at the Eastern Michigan 44-yard line. Toledo scored three plays later to take a 16-10 lead.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
XAZAVIAN VALLADAY, WYOMING
Sophomore, Running Back, Matteson, Illinois / Brother Rice HS

  • Led Wyoming to a 31-3 victory over Mountain West foe Nevada.
  • Racked up 280 all-purpose yards, a career high and the most by a Mountain West player this season.
  • The 280 all-purpose yards are the most by a Cowboy since current Atlanta Falcon Brian Hill recorded 302 yards vs. Nevada on Oct. 22, 2016.
  • Rushed the ball 26 times for a career-best 206 yards, registering just the second 200-yard rushing performance in the Conference this season.
  • Caught two passes for 74 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown on Wyoming’s first play from scrimmage.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LOGAN STEWART, COLORADO STATE
Junior, Safety, Loveland, Colorado / Mountain View HS

  • Helped lead Colorado State to its second consecutive road victory, a 41-31 win over Fresno State.
  • Finished the contest with seven tackles, including four solo stops, and two fourth-quarter interceptions.
  • The second interception ended any Fresno State hope of a comeback.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATT MERCURIO, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Freshman, Place-Kicker, Salinas, California / Palma HS

  • Scored 14 points in San José State’s 34-29 road victory over Army.
  • As the only Mountain West kicker to score more than 10 points last weekend, connected on all four field goal attempts and a pair of PATs.
  • Tied a single-game program record with four made field goals, converting on kicks from 30, 23, 38 and 28 yards.
  • Has now made 10 consecutive field goals.

OFFENSE: CJ Verdell, R-So., RB, Oregon (Chula Vista, Calif.)
• Rushed for 257 yards on 23 carries with 3 TDs during Oregon's 37-35 win over Washington State.
• Also hauled in four catches for 56 yards and totaled 313 yards from scrimmage to become the first player in program history with 250 rushing yards and 50 receiving yards in the same game
• First FBS player to have 250 rushing yards and 50 receiving yards in the same game since Joe Mixon in 2016. His 257 rushing yards are the third-most by an FBS player this season and he's the second FBS player in 2019 with 250 yards and three TDs in a game.
• Had seven runs of 10-plus yards, highlighted by plays of 89, 35 and 28 yards. His 89-yard TD run in the first quarter was the fourth-longest run in program history.
• Named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week.

DEFENSE: Paulson Adebo, Jr., CB, Stanford (Mansfield, Texas)
• Recorded two interceptions, his second career two INT game, in a 41-31 victory over Arizona. Both interceptions came in the fourth quarter, with the second INT of the game thwarting Arizona's final drive and sealing the Stanford victory.
• Now has four interceptions on the season and eight in his career.
• Has at least one interception in back-to-back games for the second time in his career and three interceptions in a two-game stretch for the second time in his career.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Camden Lewis, Fr., K, Oregon (Charlotte, N.C.)
• Made the game-winning 26-yard field goal as time expired to move Oregon to 5-0 in Pac-12 play for the first time since 2013 with a 37-35 win over Washington State.
• It marked the first go-ahead game-winning field for Oregon since 2005 against Washington State.
• Hit all three field goal attempts, including a season-long 40-yarder in the first quarter.
• First Oregon kicker to make three field goals in a game since Aidan Schneider (4-for-5) against Arizona State in 2016.
• Entered the game with two made field goals on the season and has now made his last five field goal attempts.

OFFENSIVE LINE: Shane Lemieux, Sr., OG, Oregon (Yakima, Wash.)
• Made his 46th consecutive start at right guard and helped Oregon rush for over 300 yards during a 37-35 win over Washington State.
• Graded out as the top guard in the Pac-12 and fourth nationally for week 9 at 78.3 overall by Pro Football Focus. His 79.3 run-blocking grade was second-best among guards nationally.
• Tied for the team lead with six knockdowns over 79 snaps and did not allow a sack.
• Oregon's 306 yards rushing are the most by a Pac-12 team in conference play this season, while CJ Verdell's 257 rushing yards were the most by a Duck in Autzen Stadium and the third-most by an FBS player this season.
• Oregon totaled 500 yards of offense for the fourth time this season
• Earned a 92 percent assignment grade from the Oregon coaches.
• Named to the PFF National Team of the Week.

DEFENSIVE LINE: Leki Fotu, Sr., DT, Utah (West Valley City, Utah)
• Fotu was key in Utah's smothering defensive performance in the Ute' 35-0 win over California. Utah’s first shutout of a Pac-12 opponent since joining the Conference in 2011.
• Fotu finished the game with three tackles that included 1.5 tackles for a loss of 13 yards and a sack.
• The Utah defense held Cal to just four plays in Utah territory, including none after their first possession.
• Utah held California to 43 total plays on offense and 83 yards of total offense.
• Utah has held seven of its eight opponents in 2019 under 100 yards rushing, ranking first in the FBS and in the Pac-12.

FRESHMAN: Kedon Slovis, Fr., QB, USC (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
• Helped USC overcome a 10-point fourth quarter deficit at Colorado for a 35-31 win by throwing a pair of long touchdowns to WR Michael Pittman Jr. in the final period. The game-winner of 37 yards came with 2:15 to go to cap a 12-play, 89-yard drive.
• Overall, Slovis was 30-of-44 for 406 yards and 4 TDs (all career highs) with an interception, including going 9-of-13 for 148 yards with the 2 TDs in the fourth quarter.

OFFENSE
Jauan Jennings, WR, Tennessee


  • Led Tennessee with seven receptions for a career-high 172 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-21 victory over South Carolina
  • Jennings started the game at quarterback in a "Wildcat" formation and took the Vols' first offensive snap 11 yards. He finished with 18 rushing yards and 192 all-purpose yards.
  • His seven receptions and two receiving touchdowns tied his career-bests.
  • He became the first Tennessee receiver with 150 yards and two touchdowns in over 15 years (since Donte Stallworth, 2001).
  • Jennings' broke four tackles on a 48-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the second quarter and his 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter gave Tennessee the lead for good.
Lynn Bowden, AP, Kentucky

  • Accounted for 258 yards total offense and two touchdowns in Kentucky's 29-7 win over Missouri.
  • Rushed 21 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Playing in a downpour for most of the night, completed 3 of 7 passes for 54 yards, including a career-long 44-yard bomb that set up UK's first touchdown.
  • 204 rushing yards is most by an SEC player this season.
  • Became the seventh player in UK history to rush for 200 yards in a game.
  • Leading the SEC in all-purpose yardage and kickoff return average.
DEFENSE
Jacoby Stevens, S, LSU


  • Led LSU with 10 tackles as the Tigers won their third game against a Top 10 opponent, beating Auburn 23-20 in Tiger Stadium.
  • Paced an LSU defense that held Auburn to 287 total yards (130 rushing, 157 passing) ... Auburn went into the game leading the SEC in rushing offense at 240 yards per game.
  • In second half and after Auburn took a 13-10 lead, LSU's defense forced Auburn to punt on six consecutive possessions as LSU regained the lead, extending its advantage to 23-13 during that span.
  • LSU held Auburn to 5-of-18 on third-down opportunities and forced Auburn to punt 10 times.
Daniel Bituli, LB, Tennessee

  • Led Tennessee with 15 tackles, 1.0 TFL and blocked a punt he returned for touchdown in a 41-21 win over South Carolina as the Vols' defense shutout the Gamecocks in the second half.
  • Bituli's 15 tackles and 11 solo tackles are the third-most by an SEC player in 2019.
  • He added a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Max Duffy, P, Kentucky


  • Had a magnificent night of punting and also ran a fake punt that set up a touchdown in Kentucky's 29-7 win over Missouri.
  • Punted five times for a 52.4-yard average, with no return yards and three punts inside the 20-yard line.
  • Early in the fourth quarter, on 4th-and-6, he spied an opening and ran 26 yards for a first down; the impromptu dash helped set up a Wildcat touchdown.
  • Had a crucial punt in the third quarter; with UK backed up on its own 9-yard line, he flipped the field with a career-long 70-yard boot.
  • Missouri's average field position after Duffy's punts was its own 14-yard line.
  • With Duffy's distance and placement, Kentucky leads the nation in net punting with a 46.2-yard net average.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Brandon Kennedy, OL, Tennessee


  • Captured the highest grade (80) on a Tennessee offensive line that did not allow a sack and led an offense that tallied a season-high 485 yards of total offense and a season-high 351 yards passing against a South Carolina defense that boasted one of the nation's top defensive lines.
  • Kennedy led a blocking effort that stifled a Gamecocks' defense that entered the game with 17 sacks and three defensive linemen ranking in the SEC's Top 10 in sacks. USC finished without a sack for the first time all season.

  • True freshman rushed for 131 yards on 13 carries (10.0 avg) and had two receptions for 21 yards against No. 2 LSU on the road.
  • Led Auburn with 151 all-purpose yards.
  • His 10.0 yards per carry is the highest average by an Auburn freshman in a SEC game (min 100 yards) ever.
  • Only the third 130+ yard rushing performance against an SEC opponent by an Auburn freshman in the last 10 years.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tra Barnett, Georgia State (Senior, Running Back, Elberton, Ga.)

Georgia State senior running back, Tra Barnett, rushed for 242 yards and two touchdowns and broke Georgia State's single-game, season and career rushing records to lead the Panthers to bowl eligibility with their fourth straight victory, 52-33 over Troy. The senior from Elberton, Ga., became Georgia State’s career rushing leader with 1,631 yards, and he took sole possession of the GSU career record with 15 career rushing touchdowns. With 928 yards on the year, Barnett also broke the Georgia State single-season record. Barnett's 242 yards shattered the GSU single-game mark of 201 yards, breaking the record with a 41-yard touchdown run on 4th-and-1 with one minute to play to seal the victory. His outburst helped the Panthers rush for a team-record 390 yards against a Troy defense that entered the game ranked No. 11 in the nation in rushing defense, allowing just 93.3 yards per game. Barnett has topped the 100-yard mark in a GSU-record four straight games and now has a season-record five 100-yard games in 2019 and six in his career, which equals the GSU career mark. He now leads the Sun Belt and ranks ninth in FBS at 116.0 rushing yards per game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nathan Page, Arkansas State (Sophomore, Cornerback, Roland, Ark.)

Arkansas State sophomore cornerback, Nathan Page, posted a career-high two interceptions, a pass break-up and two tackles to help Arkansas State claim a 38-14 win over Texas State. The Roland, Ark., native not only posted the first two interceptions of his career; his two picks tied the most by a Sun Belt player this season. Each of Page’s interceptions came in the second half, helping the Red Wolves outscore the Bobcats, 21-0. He was part of A-State’s defense that allowed just 227 yards total offense and eight first downs on the night. Page now ranks tied for the third most passes defended (8) in the Sun Belt this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Wesley Kennedy III, Georgia Southern (Junior, Running Back, Savannah, Ga.)

Georgia Southern junior running back, Wesley Kennedy III, had a monster game as the Eagles rolled past New Mexico State. The junior tallied 222 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, including a 71-yard rushing touchdown and a 67-yard punt return for a touchdown. The punt return score was his first collegiate one and the first by an Eagle since 2011. He also tallied a career-high 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns and had a 9-yard catch. He carried the ball just six times for a 23.8 average and the Eagle offense posted 403 yards on the ground.
