Florida has won 3 national titles and played for another i the last generation. Florida has finished in the top 10 the last two years.....but now UF doesn’t merit consideration for the top 10 and is to be classified in the bottom half of the SEC???

I realize Muschamp and McElwain were bad hires, but they’re gone. UF has not ceased to be a major power simply because they made a couple of bad coaching hires in the last decade.

Nobody gives a shit what happened at Florida 20 years ago.

Tell Spurrier I said he can kiss my Red N Black ass. ;)

As far as the last decade is concerned Florida is number 4or5 in the SEC. they’ve had success but haven’t been able to breakthrough. However, I have them as a power team in my post. I never said they aren’t a power. However, I feel like they will continue to not receive the respect you, or a lot of other Gator fans, feel they deserve because they just haven’t been able to push through further than an SEC championship game since Urban left. Believe me, I root for success, and I’d love to see the Gators get back towards the top. I fell in love with the Gators for awhile when Urban was the coach and y’all had the iconic Chris Leak/Tebow duo. I just feel that they will be looked down upon until they can challenge for a conference title, and successively, a playoff run.

TLDR (Too long, didn't read)

Just laugh at the swamp lizards and move on. Else they will bombard you with history from 2 decades ago. College football players last 4 years, tops.
Anything that happened over 4 years ago is useless information.

You didn't have UF up for even consideration in the top 10. UF's finished in the top 10 the last two years. UF returns 4 of 5 on the OL, still has 3 veteran WRs (including one of last year's starters), arguably the best TE in America, a couple of veteran 3rd and 4th year backs and the most productive returning QB in the SEC. UF also returns the kicker. On Defense the losses were the DEs one of whom missed almost the entire season anyway. UF is particularly deep here. The loss of David Reese who was a 4 year starter at MLB will be tough but Houston and Miller are both 4th year players at that spot and both have played a good bit. In the Secondary, CJ Henderson is gone but Kaiir Elam was one of the best looking freshman Cornerbacks in the country last year.

Now take a peak at the schedule. LSU lost a bunch of seniors and TEN Juniors early to the draft...and their DC and real OC. They have to come to the Swamp. UF has to go to Tennessee but they've beaten the Vols in 14 of the last 15. A rebuilding Ole Miss with a new head coach takes the place of Auburn as the rotating opponent in the West. fsu is in the toilet and has a new head coach. Georgia lost a lot on Offense and has a new OC. South Carolina comes to the Swamp. Mizzou has a new coach and a new QB. Kentucky comes to the Swamp. You seriously think UF is not going to finish in the top 10 looking at that schedule? Most of us expect 11-1 at worst.

In my personal opinion I think 10-2 is the best they do. I may be proven wrong, but I don’t think Trask can push them further than that. The D is always gonna be strong. Well see how the offense fairs after losing two receivers and Perine. Pitts is a stud! They may prove me wrong but I don’t see them getting past UGA. I know UT is being overhyped right now but Neyland is always rockin and I expect them to make it tough. UGA lost Fromm Swift and a few OL but that D is stellar and returns a lot of production. It’s never an easy road and until UF can prove Bama or UGA type consistency I don’t think they’ll be viewed as a top team.

The WLOCP is obviously the key. 10-2 would be a major disappointment. As for "UGA type consistency" they've had 3 good seasons in a row while UF has had 2. Unless aTm shocks everybody, I don't think anybody can challenge Bama in the West.

If UF gets past UGA this year that’d be HUGE. I don’t think quite yet but The East looks to be a two dog show between the two. The west is confusing. Bama should be on top but will they be the same Bama? On paper they should be great, QB is a question mark. This could be the best year for a team in the East to win the conference.
