I haven't been to a concert since Molly Hatchet back in 1980. No way ide fight the crowds now, especially since I can buy any music cds on Amazon without leaving my recliner.I heard ppl like to watch bands perform.

Old friend of mine from my childhood is still in the band Molly HatchetI haven't been to a concert since Molly Hatchet back in 1980. No way ide fight the crowds now, especially since I can buy any music cds on Amazon without leaving my recliner.
If that late 90's Kiss concert was in Rupp, I was there. Although I was near the stage. We bought tickets, and they were nosebleeds, but then my good friend wanted to go so we went to get him tickets, and someone had cancelled, so we ended up scoring really close tickets. Bought two and gave the other tickets to friends.First concert with my HS friends was Ozzy Osbourne, Ultimate Sin tour at an outdoor stadium of the University football field ,General admission (old Cardinal stadium in the summer of 1986 when I was 15). Opening band was someone I never heard of, Metallica on the beginning of Master of puppets tour, before they became superstars. This was right before Cliff Burton died.
Also saw Kiss in the late 90s on one of their reunion tours, my Kiss freak friend got us 2nd row seats. Awesome, only had nose bleed seats before. Also saw Robert Plant on his "Long cool one" tour in late 80s with my GF at small venue Louisville Gardens, general admission with great seats. I was happily entertained when they played a bunch of Zeppelin songs! Opening act was Cheap Trick when they were about to be cancelled by their record company before they had a resurgence of hits, "The flame tour." Was very impressed with Cheap Trick.
Also saw Kiss with opening act Alice in Chains before Staley died in the 90s. Saw MegaDeth on the "cryptic writings tour" when they were also about to be dropped from their label before it had hits, but they chose to finish the tour with small venues like they had booked. You could walk right up front to Dave Mustaine , the capacity was probably 1K people.
LOL! Other than Buddy Guy I've never even heard of any of these bands.First show, Buddy Guy at the House of Blues Orlando. Great venue.
Most disappointing, Dream Theater at Hard Rock Live Orlando... not the band, but the audio/vocals were off all night, James LaBrie was pissed.
Most lived up to expectations, Florence + The Machine, Harvey's South Lake Tahoe. But they actually put chairs in the parking lot, WTF?
Most exceeded expectations, Portugal. The Man... better live even after their first post Grammy show in Reno... saw them again on top of Snow King in Jackson, WY with the Tetons in the background, pretty absurd venue.
Most epic concert... Bassnectar at Montbleu in SLT(now Bally's.) Thought he was gonna shake that place down.
Danny Joe Brown was a helluva lead singer but sadly, his health was always pretty bad.Old friend of mine from my childhood is still in the band Molly Hatchet

You’re not the only one. I guess I’m officially old.LOL! Other than Buddy Guy I've never even heard of any of these bands.
Gen Xer. I'm a child of the 70s.
Maybe it just means we have decent musical taste. You’re not the only one. I guess I’m officially old.
Saw Clint Black, up close and personal, when he sat on a table 10 feet away with nothing but his guitar in Mogadishu, Somalia, in '93. USO tour. Saw him again last year.... made a sign thanking him for giving me a lifelong memory just to be told that I had to put my sign down because it was blocking someone's view. "You're welcome, motherfucker."first concert survivor when I was really young.
Last Clint black in 2024
Dream Theater has been around for decades but they're very technical prog rock... music for musicians. Not singalong music for normies.LOL! Other than Buddy Guy I've never even heard of any of these bands.
