Expectations VS Reality

How did your season expectations go versus how it actually panned out?

Most had us going 6-6 the season and I think having the chance at a 9 win season is pretty good.

Honestly, I expected us to lose to Texas and OU this season along with Iowa State but instead we lost to Baylor, beat Iowa State and lost to Tech.

All in all, playing our last two games with a QB who hadn't played a snap since 2017, losing our stud WR who was leading the nation at the time of his ACL Tear, I feel we did well sans last night.

Disappointing, but not horribly. Losing a close game to one of the best teams in the country, and losing a close hard fought game to your bitter rival on their field and still having a chance after two pick six's.
Us Bama fans have become a bit spoiled, but 10 and 2 with a likely NY bowl is not a failure.

We had visions placed in our heads(by the media) of playing for a West title and our QB as a Heisman candidate.

Reality, we're at least 2-3 years from that.

But Nebraska media will tell us come Spring, that 2020 is the year Nebraska is back. Sells papers & clicks. We eat it up. What else is there to do around here, have sex with io_a housewives?

Ya know this run feels like it's going to hurt really bad in Tuscaloosa when it all comes to an end. I hope it's not the case for you guys as that sucks as a fan and alumni of a program but what you guys have achieved is nothing short of absolute dominance.
It's always disappointing when your team doesn't do as well as expected. All runs eventually come to an end and Bama's will be no exception. The difference, to me anyways is that this isn't the first time we've been through it. I have had the pleasure of witnessing two of the greatest coaches of all time prowl the sideline at Bryant Denny; Bear Bryant and Nick Saban. When this run comes to an end I will smile and think "Well done guy's, well done".
BUT, it would be foolish to start writing Bama's obituary just yet.

Yeah, when you're 1 injured QB from going to the national title game, your run is not over. How good is Tua #2?

Man, it's weird but I have an emotional vested interest in seeing my fellow Big 8 brethren do well sans the Buffablo_s because fuck them.

I really want to see Nebraska doing well as well as Mizzou. It's weird because I wanted nothing but to beat you guys when you were still in the Big XII.

Also in all honesty, I want nothing more than for you and Mizzou to come back home and fill out the ranks again.

Man, you being able to see two of the GOATs on the sideline is nothing short of amazing.

Yeah selfishly I want to see Bamas reign end because that means we have a better chance of competing for talent that you guys poach out of Okie, Tx and La but that's not something that will soon happen.

He's ok.

His HS stats according to a quick google search:

For those counting at home, that brings Taulia Tagovailoa’s high school stats to a mind-boggling 14,207 passing yards and 135 touchdown passes across four years at two schools.

All I can say is we are preparing to play your step-brothers, the stewpit burglars, in '21 & '22....it's gonna be our coming out party. Bookmark this @Proud_Okie you backcrack-jam scooper.

I thought 10-2 or 9-3, and we won 10, so right where I expected.

Our fanbase is insane though, and the ones who predicted 8-4 or 7-5 now want to fire half of the coaches because we lost 2 and didn't blow Rutgers out with our backup QB making his first start

love our team, hate our fans

I predicted USC at 8-4 or 7-5. Some of the wins I didn’t expect along with some of the losses.

Coaching went as expected (terrible) and will be the same next if they don’t fire him within the next 24-48 hours.

Bright side is a lot of young talent played this year and were impressive.

To be brutally honest, Frost(& staff) also were misleading with the quality of the team. Fans also were irresponsible with expectations for Frost and team.

I guess I'd rather us have those expectations, than not. I do wish more reality was published with just the positive progression of the program highlighted. But, we also need to discuss it's blatant deficiencies without butthurt and in-fighting. That's not the modern media environment though. GBR !!

Any rumblings of Coach's status?

Do you have a new AD in place? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up. I've been pondering Cowpoke's new title and fighting stewpits.

New AD (Bohn/Cincinnati) approximately a month ago. Talk is he is already well liked and has a lot of energy.

Rumors swirling around go far and wide regarding coaching situation. Everything from Urban being offered to Helton staying.

After shifting through it all, the only thing that makes sense is that Bohn was making sure SC didn’t back it’s way into the conference championship game. Now he can fire Helton. Should find out if this is accurate within the next 24-48 hours.
