Why Bugatti Isn’t in the Game
The main reason comes down to legal and corporate shifts. Bugatti has merged into a new joint venture called Bugatti-Rimac. This change altered the brand’s ownership structure and invalidated previous licensing agreements with Playground Games. The developers now need to negotiate entirely new contracts with the new entity, which takes time.
This isn’t just about Bugatti. Other high-profile brands and cars are missing too. For example, the fan-favorite McLaren Senna doesn’t appear in the launch roster either.
A Look at the Past
The Horizon series has a history of leaving out major brands at launch due to legal or contract issues. In earlier games, Toyota and Mitsubishi were missing from early versions of Forza Horizon 4. Alfa Romeo was absent when Forza Horizon 5 first released. Each of these brands eventually returned to the game via free updates, so there’s precedent for Bugatti making a comeback.
What the Future Might Hold
Community chatter on the official Forza Forums points out that Rimac cars have already been spotted in preview builds. This shows that Playground Games is actively working with the parent company, making a post-launch Bugatti update very likely. Players can expect the iconic hypercars to return once the licensing issues are sorted.
For now, fans will need to enjoy Forza Horizon 6’s massive Japan map and hundreds of other cars, knowing that Bugatti may join the mix in a future update.
