Florida football

FSU-A Coach that checked out, a coach in over his head, and another trying to dig out of a whole of four tanked recruiting classes. But a program that for the first time in years is moving forward.

Miami-A Coach who has taken a free agency approach to program building which has alienated local recruits but also runs the risk of wildly inconsistent team chemistry. But they’ve found a legitimate QB that is going to be a star the next couple of years.

Florida-A Coach with a high floor and a low ceiling who hates recruiting and wants to just call plays is hitting said ceiling and has the personality of a potato farmer and the charisma of a corporate training video and has completely lost the team and fanbase.

It makes for a stew of suck for the BIG 3.

FSU is on the rise regardless of what most think. Looks like their ceiling is 7 wins this year, although my prediction was 8. Norvell is doing work that most don't see. He had to take a few steps back to move forward, but he's finally got the program moving in the right direction.

Miami is a dumpster fire. 4 of their 5 wins came by a combined total of 10 points. They could easily be 1-8.

I predicted UF as a 4-5 loss team prior to the season. Now that Mullin has quit on the team and took most of the team with him, it looks as if they will be lucky to be bowl eligible.

If FSU tops out at 7 wins this year, that means a 4-0 close. If that happens, Mike needs to get a 5 year extension. This team is banged up, beat up, and the thin depth has already been wrecked. This team is topping out at 4 wins, maybe 5, which is about where most of us realistic FSU fans had this team.

Miami is an odd case but they’re an odd case every year. While they’ve had close wins, they’ve also had close losses. They lost to Virginia by two points in a doinked FG. And to UNC by 3 when they were inside the tar heel 20 yard line and had a fluke int. They could just as easily be 7-2 and undefeated in the ACC and in the drivers seat. The scary truth is, they found their QB. TVD is a big strong kid with a gunslinger arm and mentality. I feel very much he’s saving Manny’s job and going to be a problem the next couple of years.

Mullen wanted the NFL job. He knew he was gonna have a down year after losing all the First round talent last year and wanted to cash out. When he didn’t get it, he completely checked out. Couple that with a rebuilding year and you get the situation they’re in now. Going to be interesting to see how they close.
