Now that Taggart is gone (damn it I wanted him to be HC for life!)

Who is realistically on the radar?

Personally I think there are few real up and comers that could do major damage there.

Too bad they wouldn't have done this sooner. I think someone like Matt Rhule there could do even better than he is doing at Baylor.

Any chance Sonny Dykes gets a look? I mean, he has history in Cali, and just look what he has SMU doing right now?

As a Temple guy I’d love Rhule. But I’m 100% convinced he’s coaching the New York Giants next year.

Obviously you’ll hear names like Mark Stoops, PJ Fleck, Matt Campbell, etc etc.

Frankly, I have no idea. I hope there’s a legit plan instead of just throwing 20 Million Dollars to fore a guy, only to hire a similar “up and comer”

I think there are legit good up and comers that could do great for FSU.

The guy at Memphis with his run and gun and Florida talent could be great. Plenty of other options. But I do agree with you. I dont think it will be one of the Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer types

Although Mark Stoops has FSU ties, I think FSU will go for flashy instead of Stoops' blue collar slow build attitude. And with their current buyout of Taggert's 17 million (man what a great payday for a year and a half), plus the 2 million Stoops' buyout, I doubt they can offer 7 million plus a year that it would take to get him (currently makes around 5-6 million a year with incentives, etc. and UK would pony up another million to keep him, Im sure).

Yet, it is FSU...chances to get to a higher footing is much better, but also is a possible giant pitfall. They would have to make an offer beyond belief!
Im not nervous at all.

Very important hire for the FSU here. You do not want to get in a bad coaching cycle. See Bama mid 90's-late 00's, current UT, Nebraska, etc etc
Bad coaching cycle-yeah. But look what happened after that. In this age of parity and such, BAMA has a historical run going.
And, if they can be open minded about it and look beyond their own noses they should be able to pull in a top notch coach.
