Go Navy, beat Army!!!

There are several Navy vets here, so I wonder if I'll get my hand slapped for saying this.. but as a Navy Vet,, I used to pull for Army in the game
because I hated the officers in the Navy..
That was in my younger days,, Now... Go Navy,, because they represent the whole Navy,, not just Annapolis.

The game to me represents the entire Navy and Army, not just the Academies.
That being said, I never had a huge issue with most of the officers, but the academy grads most definitely had a prima donna attitude. Maybe because as an aircrewman I spent so much time with officers. We flew together, studied together, trained together, and partied together. When on the plane things were less formal. It was very much a “team” concept and we all had roles on the team. There was still some separation that had to be maintained, and fraternization was forbidden except for things like casual rounds of golf.

The game meant nothing to me while I served. Didn't pay it any mind. But the "90 day wonders" were for the most part useless.

I found many of the ROTC officers were just guys doing a job they didn't really want to do, weren't cut out for, and were not going to make their life's work. The OCS guys were generally better.

The Annapolis guys were generally a cut (or several cuts) above. But my last Captain was a mustang, spend several years as an enlisted man before he was commissioned. He was REALLY good- good leader, great ship handler and fair and respected by everyone.

I'm not a veteran so I have no affiliation. Years ago I decided to just pick a team to be "my" service academy rooting interest, and Navy won the coin toss.

I always just hope for a good game. There's never a loser in this game.
