I saw an interaction between a pretty liberal guy and a veteran. The liberal guy tried to down play the guys service saying he was serving in a time of American fraud and not much going on.

The veteran simply said he was over there for you and you're allowed to have your opinion because of that. Very admirable.

Some guys just dont get it,, There is a lot about our current state of affairs regarding government and politics that I do not like.. but the idea of our freedom and country and America will always be worthy of my respect, admiration, and desire to defend her.
Some men will stand when others wont. I will stand.

Two things can be true at once. You can defend someone's right to do and say as they believe. And they can still be am asshole. That guy was an asshole.

I think I’m probably just getting overly sensitized to just about everything these days being approached in a politically bipolar fashion, but couldn’t this anecdote have been just as effective if the “liberal” references were omitted? Not trying to be that guy, but I’m pretty sure there are an awful lot of vets and active military who also happen to be liberal. Being liberal or being whatever does not inherently make someone minimize or disrespect the service of others. It also does not grant exclusive license to assholery.
