I'm in the market for a Truck

I’ve had all of the big 3, Dodge, Chevy, and Ford. My current truck is a 2015 F150 King Ranch. I love this truck! It will literally blow the others away on power. It has the 3.5 L eco boost in it. 365 hp, 425 ft lbs of torque. It will go 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. The newer models have even more hp and torque. This half ton truck is rated at 11,200 lbs towing capacity. The model does have a history of problems with the IWE on the front axles though. It uses a vacuum system to engage and disengage the 4x4 drive, and the diaphragms can break causing the 4wd to stay engaged. It’s my only complaint. I’ve got 88k miles on mine and replaced one IWE. Oh , IWE is integrated wheel end, basically it’s the vacuum controlled locking hub and bearing for the front drive axles.
All three trucks are good trucks. My complaint with the Dodge was all the little stuff... interior headliner coming loose, knobs falling off, etc.
I didn’t have any major complaints with my Silverado, but I wouldn’t trade my F150 for one.
Drive one, hell drive all 3. And romp down on the pedal, and watch and feel the acceleration. You’ll be impressed.
My DD is a 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4 with the vacuum controlled 4wd engagement. No problems. One important aspect to 4wd is whenever it rains engage the system and drive for a while engaged. The old if you don't use it you lose it is true especially on a 4wd. My mechanic redid a lot of systems that were not engaged until it snowed and here in Alabama that was not often enough to keep they system lubed.

My Ranger will be in the vehicle rotation until I die. Has 98,000 miles and I drive about 3K a year in it.

One good aspect about trucks is they are overengineered compared to cars and will last a lot longer. Just buy the truck you like.

Nope darn it the 3.0 Flex. Decent enough for around town but sometimes wish I had the extra torque. The only problem has been the dreaded cylinder head problem from being tuned from the factory too lean. Mechanic said still have the cross hatches in the block so minimal wear. Had him replace the water pump etc while it was torn down. He reprogramed the puter to run richer. Should never need another pick up. Here is what it looks like.

I’ve bought Dodge trucks since 2008. My 08 3500 dually quad cab, standard transmission with Cummins diesel has been one of the best trucks I have ever owned. I loved it so much that I bought a 2019 Ram 5500 with automatic transmission and the Cummins engine. Both are 4 wheel drive which is a must for me. The new truck runs at gvwr (just under 19k lbs.) full time and has 55k miles so far. I haven’t had one issue with this new truck at all. Its been really a great truck.

They are fast for a truck, no doubt about it. But what has impressed me is the suspension. Made for rough roads, they ride and handle like no other truck on the highway- a real pleasure to drive.

No doubt about that, and I think all 1/2 ton trucks should have the option of a locker or limited slip diff front and rear and 35" tires.

My only gripe about the Raptor is that it's too wide for the heavily wooded area where I live. It's necessary though to provide that amount of wheel travel.

My ideal truck would be a single cab, short bed F-150 with a rubber floormat, manual transfer case, Super Duty axles, and the new pushrod 7.3L V8.

found it :) now for some fuzzy dice and bull balls ...

Make sure you keep the doors locked, otherwise I may repurpose it for my pops. Beat to the punch on the last three excellent deals.

You should look into a custom tune. There's nothing like huge power gains, longer transmission longevity, and better fuel economy.
