have to choke a bitch?
I lost it... but people are all up in arms about it:

College GameDay personality Desmond Howard caused a bit of a stir during the ESPN team's 2019 football season debut broadcast from Orlando on Saturday morning.

Howard was asked if Michigan, his alma mater, was going to be able to make a big enough splash to beat arch rival Ohio State this season. The Wolverines have lost to the Buckeyes seven times in a row. In response to host Rece Davis' question, Howard, acting like he was frustrated about the losing streak, made a joke that sounded like an expletive remark.

"Is Desmond Howard gonna have to choke a b—h?" Howard appeared to say.

However, upon a closer listen, Howard did not actually use an expletive at all. He was copying a phrase used by former ESPN anchor Robert Flores, who used the joke as a play on words with the name of star tennis player Novak Djokivic, which when pronounced can be confused with "choke a b—h." In an attempt to clear the air further, Howard replied to a tweet which accused him of cursing. The ESPN analyst posted a link of a YouTube clip that showed Flores using the "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to Djokivic" phrase.

Well, he did apologize later in the show.

He did? I saw it live and lost my shit because Chapelle Show was awesome and the Wayne Brady skit is arguably the funniest thing that ever happened. Hell I posted the first tweet I found here somewhere because I was like holy crap he just went there.

It wasn't appropriate for a Gameday audience so I kept watching waiting for a half ass apology but must have missed it.

It was uncouth in a #metoo world and the reference came out of nowhere but as a white midwest 30something without any political agenda I found it hilarious.

I think it was perfect for the Gameday audience they were forced to deal with. It made a statement. Disneyworld needs to burn to the fucking ground.

See what you’ve gone and done....

Shame on you.
