Weird game. ND ground brilliantly on that first drive, ate 2/3 of a quarter, couldnt do shit after that as Ohio State dominated the rest of the first half, then Notre Dame fought with pluck and made it a damn game. Almost feels like they were robbed, and played better despite being outclassed.
 
It’s insane that Ryan Day is now one of only three active NCAA coaches with a national championship. He’s a fraud.
 
Whelp.

That sucked.

But at the same time is about what I expected.

At the end of the day too many injuries and even though ND had great depth. There is a reason a player wasn't a starter vs someone else.

Most of this year ND on defense has sold out on using inside LB pressure to get to the QB and hurry him up. And with all of thr D line injuries just couldn't get enough push to give the LB lanes and didn't speed Howard up.

Passing game could have been more dynamic. But I have said that all year. Unfortunately that just isn't who Riley is.

Proud of these kids for finding a way to get as far as they did. And hopefully now we can move on to a QB that uses his WR instead of having a RB that takes snaps and throws screens.

I'd have killed for your QB this year.

I weill say, with your coach, it's not a matter of if y'all will finally win a national title again, it's just a matter of when. I am as confident of that as I was of Harbaugh winning one when he was hired at UM. I think y'all have found your man. IMO there were only two MISTAKES ND made last night...the doink field goal, and the personal foul roughing the passer. Otherwise, you were well coached and played hard, but your team was outclassed against probably the most talented team in the country. So, no shame in that. Y'all fought hard and came back when most teams would have packed it in, and, in many people's eyes, y'all just ran out of time.
 
With a healthy Riley Mills on the D line and a healthy B Morrison in thr secondary. And I think it is a different game. But would and should kind of thing.

Ohio St won the middle of the game of the game in the same way ND got Georgia stacking up points.

If we can keep thr OC and Dac for next year. Which I'm not condient about just yet because of the Bengals. ND could make a real run next year. We will see.
