LSU hires Brian Kelly?

Bottom line, is this, I would rather have dumb players who can't read the names on all those National Championship Trophies, then have smart players who will prolly never, read their Team name on said Trophy.
 
That's cool. I do have other friends like that as well. Both pro and anti ND. To me, college will always be the student athlete. The NFL is just for the guys that want to be the most exceptional freak athletes.

To me it is always up to the fan. I don't think it is better one way or the other.
 
I do wish we would create a constant and streamlined set of academic rules for all of D1. Because there is obviously a difference from school to school. And that has huge effects on the sport.
 
I'm not a Kelly guy. Anyone will tell you that. But I am more than positive he knows exactly what he is walking into. The one thing I will give Kelly is that he is Saban level of asshole. I mean he is the kind of guy you talk to once and then know in the back of your head you wouldn't cross the street to piss on him to put out a fire.

His excuse for years has been it was the institution that kept him from performing at the top level. It was the admission requirements, or the location, or the lack of a CCG, or whatever other excuse you can think of. All of that is gone now. This is truly a man's pride wanting to know his capability.

I would associate this with the walk on at the NFL training camp that didn't get drafted. He wants to know if he has it. And keep in mind. It isn't like he isn't good enough of a coach. I mean I think we can all agree he is much better than a lot of the trash coaches we have seen run through the SEC in the last decade plus. The only questions are how much better, and if it is good enough? And that I am honestly interested in knowing myself. Because it is the ultimate 'what if' getting answered.
