My group and I hunted all weekend and got several good does and 1 old ancient buck that was probably going to die this winter from starvation so all in all had a good hunt. We needed to kill more does than what we did, just didn't have the people to get them where they needed to go. I saw close to 30 on one drive, and other guys said there were lots of other deer that ran other directions. We estimate that there were roughly 100 deer in that timber. That's too many deer in that area. @RazzlDazzl

We always have a better rut here when we take more does to keep the ratio in check.

I haven't been able to hunt at all though. My brother and I got most of our stands and ground blinds set up a while back, including the ones easy for our dad to get in. He's pushing 70 and lost use of his right arm and lung in '95.

He fell on the concrete about a week ago, gashing his bad arm and fracturing the humerus just under his shoulder. He's also diabetic and on blood thinners, so I couldn't stop the bleeding for a few days. His ribs are also badly bruised. He's doing better now, but has a good way to go. I just redressed his wound.

I hope your dad recovers and you get to get in the timber soon
