NBC is looking to shake down B1G fans and opponents

Hard to believe Michigan State/Washington got pushed to streaming.

I kind of understand pushing Michigan and Penn State's "rent-a-win" opponents to streaming. It's a good way to get some viewers for a game without any national relevance.
WVU vs PSU in NOT a rent a win game in anyone's book...

Let's face reality. No matter who pays for the rights to CFB games, at some point, advertising alone, will not pay enough to support the contracts. Increased cost has always been passed to the consumer in every business model ever. Pay the bribe or turn time back 40 years and listen to the game on the radio. BTW, SiriusXM ain't free.

Think my parents got Peacock but I could be wrong. My dad is a ND fan and one of their games was Peacock only. Is BTN getting any games?
I think Fox and CBS alternate picking 1st and 2nd each week, then NBC picks 3rd. NBC is pushing for a lot of night games.

As for BTN and FS1, I guess they get what’s left and probably air a less interesting game directly against one of the above.

The crazy thing is NBC is airing Syracuse@Purdue at 7:30 that same night. Maybe they have an ND afternoon game that day.
ND plays Central Michigan on Peacock at 2.30 that day.

And for all of you seeing a game on Peacock. I feel bad for you. They are awful.

However like many ND fans do. You can make a junk email account. Sign up for the free trial. Watch the game. And then cancel. And not pay for it. Many ND fans do this. Personally I keep Peacock active. I like the overall service.

Correct. Talking about the Peacock games. (Penn State vs. Delaware)

Penn State vs. West Virginia is a good one. It feels like they should have been conference mates at some point.

They should’ve

Joe Pa had the idea of an all-eastern conference in the late 70’s. But the Catholic Basketball Schools got into the ear of the football schools (WVU, Pitt, Cuse) that they’d be better in football independence. Then they rejected PSU’s bid to join the basketball league a few years later.

JoePa had a Big East all ready to go...pitt/cuse killed it. PSU goes to the B1G and soon after, the Big East was born.
Would have been a solid conference too.

And then they were off to the B1G. It was Cuse and sPitt, WVU was all about it.
