Need Advice

You got this. Keep us all informed on how it goes.
Met with the other company and they didn't seem to try coming closer to what I currently make. I listened to their offer and could definitely help them. However, I'm not losing 7k a year. The current gig is going to have a sales admin role that I basically do most of that role now, though it's not defined in my current role. Sounds like our sales manager was wanting me to have the new position before they even post it.

Never complain about taking on more than your "job description" calls for. Each and every time, it opens up your talent and makes you more valuable. The ones in charge of the ones in charge notice more than you realize.

Not complaining at all. It may have actually allowed me to stay with this new company which could turn out nicely. The only issue has been that I've had a new supervisor (after mine was let go) that couldn't figure out why I had so many different hats. She was wanting to put more structure in place and now I know why with the sale. She was hoping to make the transition smoother for the purchasing company.

The more you know, the more valuable you are. Every company has employees that don't want a job, just a paycheck. Every company has employees that will break their back every day, not because they expect something, but because they take pride in themselves. Quality floats to the top, but so does shit. Take that for what it's worth.

Thanks for letting us know how it is going.

Never be shy from taking on new roles. It adds to your value.

Keep looking and find someone that sees your value. Do not give up.

It's hard to take seriously someone asking for job advice because their current company got bought out.

If it took that before you felt the need to be a valuable employee you've been doing it wrong man...

When these buy outs occur, it has little to do with how valuable of an employee you are to the company. It's a dollars and cents business. The first experience my whole department was let go. I heard it was a big mistake from employees that remained in different departments. The 2nd time we were lucky that the new owner was green and didn't want to upset the apple cart. Now that he sold out to a much bigger company many of us could be shown the door. So far none of us have been yet, but it all depends on the bottom line this new company wants to have. There is no need to for my current position to remain due to dollars and cents. Why rent a building and store equipment when you already have huge warehouses that can just add those items? Luckily I also wear many hats, and I don't just do that job, though that is my title. This new company has many people doing just 1 role I do, let alone the other 5 or so. So yes, I will question and ask advice as what those who may have similar experiences or been on the other end may know. It seems I may be lucky and will transition into a new role (by title only) that I had covered most of the duties before when another employee left before this sale. I believe this opportunity was brought to my attention because the owner that sold & his going to be the president of a division of the new company saw the value I added. If not, I probably would have been given severance immediately or told for sure I would be done by end of March. When I first posted this, he wasn't sure what this new company may offer due to how large they were and not sure what roles he could keep or be in charge over.
