Not a good look for Jermaine Burton. Bro, there's never a good excuse to hit a woman.

I'm assuming that this statement includes your Tennessee fanbase. Like I said, spin it however you want. Rules were broken. Control yourselves, Vols. It ain't that fucking hard to avoid going straight to trailer park trash level (expert).
UGA has rushed the field and broke the rule...

I'll be the first to admit that UGA ain't perfect. Hell, I've been banned from multiple UGA forums because I rub blind homers the wrong way. That doesn't excuse Tennessee's fanbase's actions over the last couple of years. I mean, UGA may have rushed the field, but they didn't tear their own goalpost down and carry it out of the stadium and throw it in the river. Granted, the Oconee river in Athens ain't big enough to throw anything in, but still, my point remains.

Yeah, I was hoping you would say something like that. Y'all rushed the field after beating an 0-2 Tennessee team and the goal posts came down. 😶‍🌫️

LMAO @ 22 years ago. That's one helluva struggle win. But they didn't carry the goalpost out of the stadium, through Athens, and throw it in the river. BTW, did you pledge your money to help replace the goalpost? Apparently, UT asked for fans to help buy a new one.

They probably didn't have a river and threw it in the creek. You know UT knocked off bama which had a 15 yr streak on us and both were undefeated. Y'all did it for beating an 0-2 team.

The goal posts were was something that would keep UT in the news.

The goal posts cost more than the fine. Not sure what the cost was to retrieve it, or if they did.

Admittedly, WVU hasn't had a big upset in some time, but the university now has procedures in place to prevent storming the field. Many fans are trying to get some of those practices stopped, so it can happen again. For example, we have newer goal posts that immediately come down after the game and are secured to the turf. Also, they have police and security guards with pepper spray and handcuffs and they prosecute. For me, I like singing Country Roads in the stands with the team joining in from the field - but I am "get off my lawn" old. Maybe a combination of the two could happen, where the university allows the fans on the field after a specific verse to give the refs and away team time to exit the field before the fans take it. I would not mind seeing a jubilant fanbase on the field, but I would hope it could be done safely for all parties.

We did too. It was called being mediocre. It was effective for over 20 years. :)

I love WVU's tradition of the crowd singing Country Roads with the team at the end of the game.

Nobody even mentioned Coach getting hit...
