Not defending this in the least because this is bullshit, but Shades of Green (last I checked in on it about 9-10 years ago) has like at least a 4 year waiting list.....it's crazy. You'd be better off, as a vet or active duty type, to book a reservation at the Hale Koa hotel and resort in Honolulu....or the Dragon Lodge in Seoul....or really any other property than that one.

I see this getting fixed once all the legal shit is worked out to shut down the stuff the Reedy Creek board did on their way out, but I do think DOD/Shades of Green should be on the hook for at least some of the cost of the solution (pedestrian bridge makes the most sense) because they're the ones wanting their guests to have access to that abomination of a park.

Avondale is an area of Bham that used to be a slum pretty much, but it was revamped about 15 or 20 years ago and has become a yuppie type area for UAB students and the like to wear their skinny jeans, drink craft beer at their upscale resturants and walk their dogs on a leash.. but yeah,,
