There are several means of overcoming these violent protesters even after the protesters been given gas masks. You simply spray them down with fire department level high pressure water hoses. That will knock the masks off many of them and will discourage most all of them from moving into areas you wish to protect. So wash them down good and then teargas them. Of course, the the most effective remedy is law enforcement/military using beaucoup 5.56 projectiles fired from M4s, but some would believe such to be too harsh a reaction by police/soldiers.
