There’s a few folks that came back for the season that are oblivious to the mass banning on the old board.

I haven’t really gone into detail because I don’t really know the details.

But how would everyone feel about an open invite, then weed out the riff raff that causes problems?

I wasn’t going to post a link, just the name of this site?

Interesting question. Who I think is ok may differ greatly from who you think is ok. Those I believe are total a holes may be top notch in your eyes. On the other hand, I don’t want to stifle board growth with any personal biases I may have towards some. In general dissenting opinions are good for creating dialogue, you just don’t want to create a hostile environment with troublemakers. It’s much harder to get rid of them than it is to weed them out to start with. Just my opinion, and others may differ.

I'm fine with it. The mods are allowed to do it at their discretion. No tears shed on something fun :)
 
I'm all for more people. As long as some douche doesn't hijack a thread going back and forth arguing with someone for page after page.

Agreed. I think openly posting a link would be troubling. SO would probably zap it anyway. SO has some real pieces of work over there, and I tolerated it for the great posters that are already over on this site. Invite who you want though privately. I like it here the way it is. Inviting a bunch of shit-stirrers for the sake of a few good posters is not worth it to me IMO FWIW.

Thing is.....there are a lot of great posters and only a few real shit stirrers, though. At least that's the way I remember it. Hard to believe it's almost been a year since "The Purge". I'd like to see "The Mass Exodus" happen. Here needs to be our new home.

We also have the discretion to approve requests. So far, the only ones I've seen come across when I'm logged on are known "spam" accounts.
