Forcing federal workers and military to get the vaccine coming soon. Guess stoking fears of delta and lambda variants and surging fourth waves wasn’t enough…now, the goal is make life a living hell until you submit (or are fired), with threats to the private sector to follow suite.

“The measures are U.S. President Joe Biden’s latest effort to spur some reluctant Americans to get vaccinated as the Delta variant of the coronavirus ravages the unvaccinated in particular.
Government employees who do not show they have been vaccinated will be subject to weekly or twice-weekly COVID-19 tests and restrictions on official travel.
“The administration will encourage employers across the private sector to follow this strong model,” the White House said in a statement ahead of expected remarks by Biden.
Along with the new requirements, the White House said Biden was directing the Defense Department to look into “how and when” it will require members of the military to take the vaccine, along with other required inoculations.”

God I hate everyone that lives in fear of this bug.
 
If you're in the military, you do not have a choice. Ask @OldDevilDawg He's vaccinated against a shit ton of diseases from his time and travels with the Marines. As for the rest, where I work went from no testing required if vaccinated to weekly testing because an antivaxer brought it into work with them. Glad they have the right to force the rest of us to go through invasive testing. Great to be them, sucks to be us, their rights trump everyone else's. Fuck 'em, that person will be treated like shit by me and I hope everyone else does too...

Why would your company make you, vaccinated, take weekly tests? I can understand being pissed at antivaxxer but I think you should be equally or more pissed at your job.

I've said from the beginning that employers have every right to require anything they wish of their employees. Don't want to follow your employer's rules, quit and get another job. My rights to make my own decisions are my own. I will continue to make my own decisions. I will also take responsibility for the repercussions of my decisions.

I agree, but I don’t like the White House “urging” companies to follow their example. Reeks of a threat. And the same people that decried fascism for the last 5 years are silent about it.

I work at a state hospital for the criminally insane. I am pissed at my job, vaccination should have been required for continued employment...

I accept responsibility for my decision to refuse the vaccine. I might die from it, I most likely won't. That said, I fully agree with your opinion of your own situation.

The most difficult thing I had to come to terms with when I raised my right hand and took that oath, was that I was offering my life in exchange for guaranteeing the rights provided in our Constitution, even for the people I disagreed with.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do if my job required one. I’m married so I cannot just quit, though that would be my gut instinct

If I was in your situation, I may take the stand you did. This is a situational decision and should be up to the individual. Having said that, those of us entrusted to the health of others have a responsibility to protect them. Goes with the territory...

Folks in the military signed up for limited freedoms, federal workers and private citizens did not.

It boggles my mind how anyone can be forced to take experimental drugs...

this is not correct -
for example, we have OSHA,
which looks after the safety and health of employees -
this mRNA concoction hasnt been approved by the FDA,
and shouldn't be allowed to be forced on workers -

My opinion, bro. We all have the right to think what we do.

As far as OSHA and MSHA go.......I told an inspector once that, "You can only protect a dumbass from himself so much." The only thing I need from the government is for them to stay out of my wallet and stay out of my damn way.

i'm just simply pointing out
that mandating a non-FDA-approved injection
oughta be agst any sort of employee-protection regs -
(not that FDA-approved means anything to me)
