R.I.P John Prine

So I guess this is a good a place as any. I lost another great musician in my life yesterday besides this one.

My Uncle passed yesterday at the age of 80. He was the best banjo player I ever saw. When I was a kid, we used to spend Saturday nights at his house with him and my Pops, among others, playing....mostly Bluegrass. First thing I thought about when I found out was this song that Pops and him would do after a few beers. It gives me chills just thinking about it now. Pops played a 12 string Yamaha. Brings a tear to my eye to think they are finally back together playing this like they did in their prime.

I just about wore the 1971 album out listening to it. This and Paradise were my favorites.

Paradise stuck with me over the years. I guess the line about Mr. Peabody's coal train has hauled it away was the line that was the most remembered. The song starts about the two minute mark.
