His are small, all man made, and only one is spring fed.

We fixed the pump and then the mower decided to spontaneously combust.

Was there a plastic shroud under the "hood" that directed air into the flywheel? Looks like it may have gotten too close to the muffler and caught on fire. What was the make and model?

Yes, but this came from a vacuum and small fuel leak.

Husqvarna YTH21K46, but it's had a long life in the heat.

One of our uncle's buddies was running it.

Luckily he only singed some leg hair and we knew where the fire extinguishers were located.
