They were throwing more shade at Clemson as far as the 6 win thing. The Bowl is in Charlotte which has a shitload of fans from many ACC teams not named Clemson. Bringing Bama in to play them would give their bowl some national interest. It's not out of the realm of possibility for a 2 loss Bama to be the SEC rep. #13 UGA played in that bowl in 2014 when it was known as the Belk Bowl.
