So I just got one question.

Who tha hell was that on the field Saturday, and what tha hell did they do with UGA's defense?

Just a few observations.......

UGA has played the entire season maintaining perimeter control and collapsing the pocket from the outside in ON EVERY DEFENSIVE DOWN. That seemed like a completely abstract concept to the defensive game plan. I can't wrap my head around how that just disappeared.

While UGA's blitz had very little success, I'm not surprised because it didn't happen nearly as often as I expected. My Dawgs rushed 4 and dropped 7 as if that was what the film showed would be most effective against Bama's offense.

I'm not gonna be like all the meltdown Dawgs and blame Kirby for not putting JT Daniels in "because Bennett is a former walk-on and therefore, can't win the big game". Monken's offense isn't designed to pass the ball 48 times and find success. Particularly when playing from behind. Daniels would not have stopped what happened, from happening.

I said the whole time that if it was close at halftime, Bama by 2 scores. I was close. What I didn't expect was such better OL play by Bama and a completely failed game plan by UGA's defense.

Once again, Bama fans, congrats. We'll see you in January.

Yeah, lots of stuff none of us expected, Bamas O line? Do you have any idea why Kirby didn't take the field goan end of third? 4th and 9?? I think he was coaching not to lose and then got desperate when they go behind, prolly won't make that mistake again, a rematch would mean we both won our semi's, here's hoping ..

No idea on the field goal. I think the entire game plan on both sides of the ball were "to not lose". Hell, that's the best way to lose.

My thoughts are, Georgia was so dominant this year they never, save maybe Clemson, faced a team as talented as them. They were never tested. Their secondary especially. Bama had the QB and receivers to gas them, make them look foolish. Georgia did harass and get to Ice quite successfully, but he Heisman’d like a Champ. It was Bama’s D that determined the game, Georgia’s QB was rattled and confused and even when the UGA oh three consecutive drives forced punts, he threw interceptions. Georgia is still Georgia, still a top 4 team and probably top to bottom the best, but, they’re not nearly as invincible as believed and for the first time all year, they must adjust and reevaluate - especially at QB.

Also they’re the far most dangerous team now- angry, desperate, and with something to prove. With 5 weeks to tweak and knowing now where their weaknesses are, sonetyhjbg they couldn’t before, I’m fucking scared of them (though I also worry we overlook Cunny). I think Michigan is in for a beat down.

Or maybe it's just more of the usual from the sec east? ;)

Bama played with their hair on fire but it all started with the oline...

Heard a vid where kirby had mentioned they really just worked on the passing of BAMA. And the fact that the oline showed up so beautifully was a shocker.

Whatever is said about cincy in the weeks to come, BAMA better not be caught napping. You know they are coming out with their hair on fire.

well, Georgia and Bama have an advantage, right now, Michigan and Cincy have 3 teams to prepare for, we only have 2.

I get it. Bama gets everybody's best. That's why UGA beat Tennessee worse, Arkansas worse, Florida worse, Auburn worse......Bama has a target every time they set foot on the field. Except when they played UGA. They got UGA's worst. Believe what you want. Do you really believe JT Daniels would have changed the outcome of that game? If not, why do you think he would change the outcome of any other game? It's too late to change QBs now anyway. Daniels has proved he has no continuity with the WRs and the timing is off. I've seen that each time he's taken the field since he got healthy.

IMO, they just need to quit the cute shit about trying to show Saban something WAY different than they've done all year and keep doing what they've been doing all year. I never said once all season that UGA was invincible. I have said numerous times that they were the team that had the best chance of beating them. They did that. Once again, congrats, and I look forward to our meeting in January.

What pisses me off the most is that y'all get to completely destroy the Cincy dream. I was really looking forward to that after last year.

Edited to add: No they never got to Young. The defense didn't even try to go after him. His got hit once by Quay Walker, and frankly, that should have been a late hit flag.

I’m as shocked as anyone ODD… if you remember, I called it 35-10 UGA. The weakest part of your D was the secondary, (and they’re still better than most!) but they hadn’t been tested because the front 7 just wrecked everyone up front and created chaos for the qb’s. I don’t know how Saban did it, but that O line kept Bryce clean all game, and he made some fantastic plays. Amazing performance.

I’m not suggesting y’all didn’t get everyone’s best- I’m saying Bama was the first (save Clemson) team that pushed Georgia beyond what they’d yet faced. Y’all played consistent to your ability- something we failed to do- which is why y’all looked so much better against common competition.

I can’t speak to your two QBs and whom is better, I’d never question your knowledge of your team. But insofar as “too late” goes, I was someone - one of the few (and criticized for it) who bitched about Hurts. I love Hurts, as a person. He’s s great kid and I’d be proud if he was my son. But as that season went on, and defenses improved and DCs saw his patterns, plotted his angles, habits, he went from Superman to struggling to shit. He lost us an IronBowl against a team that had no right by talent to be within 3 scores of us. During our game versus your Dawgs, I ranted and raved I was done with Saban if he didn’t start Tua in the second half. My wife thought me insane. At halftime I walked my dog in disgust, and recall her running out on the porch to tell me Saban had switched QBs and, well, the rest is history. Daniels may not be a better QB but we had your guy’s number. I saw his eyes, we got in his head. I’m not saying that to be a fuck. It’s just an observation. If he’s the guy, awesome. He’s got weeks now to reassess, prep, improve. It can be done. McCarron who lost 9-6 to LSU in ‘11 was not the same McCarron who looked great in the BCS game 2 months later.

Anyway like I say just giving my two cents, which are worth nothing.

I fully agree. The point I'm trying to make is that the front 7 schematically did nothing like they did all year versus every opponent. This is where my mind gets lost. I simply can't wrap my head around how the front 7 game plan was so different from every play in every game for the entire season. That's why I started posting in the game thread "game over, Congrats, Bama" when Bama went up 14-10. I simply can't understand why they did nothing similar to what they did for the entire season. It defies logic.
