So pick your scenario

Scenario A
North vs South
This would give the South their chance to "rise again" since they couldn't accomplish it on the battle field. Would see the SEC along with the bulk of the ACC state of atexas and southern B12, along with what is left of the southern PAC
Vs
B1G, balance of the ACC, northern B12, the new USC, and UCLA along with the northern PAC.

Scenario B
The NFL model. All traditional conferences end. Geography wouldn't play into this. And you would have Pods, that are parts of divisions that play to a championship and then a post season that is some sick child of the playoff and NFL post season.

Biggest negative. Much smaller chance of seeing those unique season OOC games. Like Ohio St and Orgeon. Or USC vs Bama.

Biggest negative here would be the potential to not see the historic rivalries every year. I.e. The Game or the Iron Bowl might be ended except for post season games

A. That would be a boondoggle to divide up.

B. Along with free agence(nil) if historic rivalries went by the wayside, esp Iron Bowl, I think I would be done with cfb.

The CFB battle field would be much different since the southern schools have more resources. Southern school collective has tanks, bombs and gold as a whole. Northern schools as a collecitive have electric scooters, sling shots and bitcoin.

Honestly yeah I think eventually you have two super conferences …a Big 10/PAC 12 hybrid with maybe Notre Dame and the SEC cannibalizing the Big12 and ACC, with any leftover power teams begging to be grabbed. Those two power conferences would have to rename themselves and be divided into 4 quadrants (maybe named regionally, for history’s sake). Those two would have basically a defecto playoff within themselves between 8 teams, and the two remaining champs would face for the title.

B1G started their name transition years ago.

I think this year, one random Saturday, I'd like to film a game day at my house with my son,, from the morning getting ready watching college game day, to the food prep,, the early games flipping around,, THE BAMA GAME, then the later games..
then at least there would be a record for my son to show his kids of what football used to be like !

Can you imagine having a video of this very thing from the 70s and early 80s with your Dad and the game being on the radio because most games weren't televised back then. Everybody under 45 would not even understand what was going on.

And when your ass got plastered on the field it was just another day at the office. Rub some dirt on it, walk it off and get back on the field.
