The new and improved first ever night shift thread

Still absolutely stunned that a friend from HS has passed away. I am old(er) but not old by any means. Life comes at you fast and makes you want to re-evaluate the way you are living.

first of all, im sorry about your friend from high school, although his worries are over, its the ones left behind that suffer the loss, which brings me to this point, and take this or dont, just my opinion.
We all owe a death from the moment were born, no escaping it. ive seen lots of people making themselves almost miserable trying to live a healthy life only to wind up on the same slab and someone else who may have made more questionable choices, I say live your life, experience things, try to be a good friend, husband, and father. and help somebody along the way if you can!

Reconnected with a buncha HS buddies 3-4 years ago on FB. Bruce was the first.

I wanted to make it back to CA to see him and catch up. His GF IM'ed and said he had liver issues and a stroke which took him out. She did not mention cirrhosis but I am fairly confident that is what it was.....he always had some adult drinks in his FB pics.

Sad. I hope he is free of his demons that caused him to drink so much.
