I can't remember the name but that was a little later. Its interesting but the ruling was that a sawed off shotgun (banned under the 1934 NFA) could be banned by the federal govt because it was of no military value and thus was not rationally related to a weapon that could be used for militia purposes. Notice the reasoning. Now the Leftists are trying to ban semiautomatic rifles precisely because they say they are "weapons of war" or are "just like" military rifles. Its BS as we all know. But its funny given that the SCOTUS has ruled that those are precisely the kinds of weapons protected by the 2nd Amendment. That precedent still stands by the way.

The Court cannot take judicial notice that a shotgun having a barrel less than 18 inches long has today any reasonable relation to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, and therefore cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees to the citizen the right to keep and bear such a weapon.

In the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a "shotgun having a barrel of less than eighteen inches in length" at this time has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment, or that its use could contribute to the common defense.


So.....semiautomatic rifles can clearly contribute to the common defense and as "weapons of war" are precisely the kind of thing that should be in civilian hands. Right Lefties?

Here's an example. Here in Idaho we no longer need a CCW permit to carry concealed. But back when we did need a license there were almost 300,000 Idaho residents with one. That's about one quarter of the population. People would step on each others feet, cut people off in traffic etc all the time. How often do you hear of people who carry just start blasting people for menial shit like that? It just doesnt happen. You are either being extremely disingenuous or have fallen for some false narative.
I guarantee you pass by people ever day who are carrying and you don't know it.
