The Pit of Misery: Politics and Religion

ExxonMobil to Texas after 144 years...I'm amazed these companies tolerate the BS for as long as they do.

They've been doing this for quite a while. They drove out all the gun companies. They've driven out all the oil companies (remember Chevron left California). NY is driving out banks and hedge funds. All of which has gone to red states.

There's been a flood of companies moving out of blue shitholes and relocating to the South/opening new production facilities in the South. The same goes for a lot of the foreign factories. For example, Alabama now makes more cars than Canada. There are big Mercedes Benz, Honda, Hyundai and Toyota factories there. Tennessee has Volkswagen, Nissan, a Toyota engine production plant and GM and Ford factories. Georgia has Kia and Hyundai. Mississippi has Toyota and Nissan factories. South Carolina has BMW, Volvo, Mercedes Benz vans, Isuzu trucks, and a new Scout plant being built that many think Volkswagen (the owner) will convert to produce Porsches.

That's in addition to Boeing and Lockheed Martin having South Carolina factories and Airbus having a large Alabama factory.

It turns out that when you tax and regulate the shit out of factories, they close. When you have low taxes, less regulation and a business friendly climate, factories come to you.
