1521 - Martin Luther's writings were banned by the Edict of Worms.

1805 - Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned king of Italy.

1864 - President Abraham Lincoln signed a measure creating the Montana Territory.

1868 - President Andrew Johnson was acquitted in the U.S. Senate in his impeachment trial on charges of "high crimes and misdemeanors"; the vote fell one short required of the two-thirds majority required for conviction.

1896 - The Dow Jones Industrial Average was first published. The average price of the 11 initial stocks was 40.94.

1908 - The first major oil strike in the Middle East took place as engineers working for British entrepreneur William Knox D'Arcy hit a gusher in Masjid-i-Suleiman in present-day Iran.

1938 - The House Un-American Activities Committee was established by Congress.

1940 - Allied troops began the massive naval evacuation of troops from Dunkirk, France, during World War II.

1969 - Apollo 10 returned to Earth after a mission that served a dress rehearsal for the first moon landing.

1972 - President Richard Nixon and Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev signed the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty in Moscow. (The U.S. withdrew from the treaty in 2002.)

1977 - George Willig, known as "the human fly," scaled the World Trade Center in New York City by attaching himself to the window washer mechanism and walking straight up until falling into police custody when he reached the top. It took Willig three and a half hours to make the climb, and he was find $1.10 -- a penny per floor.

1978 - The first legal casino to be operated in the United States outside of Nevada was opened in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

1981 - Fourteen people were killed when a Marine jet crashed onto the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz off Florida.

1994 - Pop star Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley were married in the Dominican Republic. (The couple divorced in 1996.)

1998 - The Supreme Court ruled that Ellis Island -- the historic gateway for millions of immigrants -- is mainly in New Jersey, not New York; in a separate case, the Court also made it far more difficult for police to be sued by people hurt during high-speed chases.

2003 - Rwandans voted to approve a new constitution that instituted a balance of power between Hutu and Tutsi.

2004 - Terry Nichols was found guilty of 161 state murder charges for helping carry out the Oklahoma City bombing. (Nichols later received 161 consecutive life sentences.)

2005 - President George W. Bush received Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at the White House; Bush called Abbas a courageous democratic reformer and bolstered his standing at home with $50 million in assistance.

2009 - President Barack Obama nominated federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor to be the first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court.

2009 - California's Supreme Court upheld the Proposition 8 gay marriage ban but said that the 18,000 same-sex weddings that had taken place before the prohibition passed were still valid.

2010 - BP launched its latest bid to plug the gushing well in the Gulf of Mexico by force-feeding it heavy drilling mud, a maneuver known as a “top kill” which proved unsuccessful.

2011 - Congress passed a four-year extension of post-Sept. 11 powers contained in the Patriot Act to search records and conduct roving wiretaps in pursuit of terrorists.

2011 - Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb general responsible for the massacre of over 8,000 Muslims at Srebrenica in 1995, is found and arrested in Lazarevo, a farming town north of Belgrade, Serbia.

2011 - After more than 50 years of struggle, South Sudan declares independence and becomes the 54th nation on the African continent.

1923 - The first 24-Hour Le Mans Grand Prix d'Endurance began. The race was won by Andre Lagache and Rene Leonard. The race ended the next day.

1925 - Ty Cobb of the Detroit Tigers became the first major league player to total 1,000 career extra-base hits.

1959 - Harvey Haddix of the Pittsburgh Pirates pitched 12 perfect innings against the Milwaukee Braves before losing, 1-0, in the 13th.

1980 - Steve Carlton of the Philadelphia Phillies became the first National League player to record six one-hitters.

1988 - The Edmonton Oilers won their fourth Stanley Cup title in five seasons after sweeping the Boston Bruins.

1990 - The Philadelphia Phillies retired Mike Schmidt's #20.

2019 - Bart Starr, the Hall of Fame quarterback who led the Green Bay Packers to victory in the first two Super Bowls, died in Birmingham, Alabama at age 85.

2019 - 2016 IndyCar Series champion Simon Pagenaud of France finishes just two-tenths of a second ahead of Alexander Rossi to win the Indianapolis 500.
 
Byl jsem doma u rodičů na Moravě a večer jsem neměl moc co dělat. Hledal jsem něco online, kde bych se mohl trochu zabavit, ale nechtěl jsem nic složitého. Tak jsem našel spin mama a zkusil ho otevřít. Stránka je přehledná, bonusy jsou jasně popsané a jsou tam různé akce, které nejsou přehnané. Oceňuju i to, že nabídky nejsou pořád stejné a občas se mění. V Česku to běží normálně a neměl jsem problém s přístupem. Nakonec jsem měl pocit, že je to spíš klidné místo než agresivní web.
