The next ND OC.

Plus of this is that it should help get Kelly canned

The negative of this is watching a couple seasons of unending bubble screens followed by a mid range throw to the opposing teams secondary. While I wait for said firing to happen

just an outsiders opinion devils advocate so to speak... .. Since Holtz, I would say Kelly is the best coach ND has had since... Not saying you need to settle on him if ND is not happy with him. He has made a playoff and played for another title..

Yes this is the best ND has been since Holtz that is easy to say. But that best is when the 3 coaches between were Davie, Willingham, and Weis. That is like getting Shula 3 times in a row. And not as successful as Shula for 1 of them. If you are a fan that is cool with winning 8 to 10 games a year with the occasional 4-8 season. And your biggest bowl win being the Music City Bowl, Kelly is your guy. If you have loftier goals than that. Kelly, like Harbaugh, or Franklin are not your guys

I didn't think the best coach since Holtz argument was very strong as soon as comparisons were made. 😁

Please don't ever say that again. I have nothing against the guy except hes not a good head coach.

Now you know how I feel. Nothing personally against weis, willingham, or davie.

They just aren't very good coaches.
I think most coaches are made to be assistants instead of the top guy.. In today's world of college football it has to take a certain type person to be a successful head coach...Also 30 years ago there was a thing called loyalty.. You could have a couple of bad seasons and survive. Now days a bad 3 game stretch and the seat gets a little warm. There are a few exceptions of course. Take Malazahn for example 3 years ago AU wanted him out. Beat UGA and Bama and gets huge raise. Gets blown out by UGA the next week in SECCG and blown out by Bama less than a year later. Booo they hate . You get the point I'm sure...

Kelly has had a decade to at least operate at the top level. And at this point the schedule is hiding the real numbers. With the current ND scheduling practices. I expect 9 wins as a floor. And should be 10 plus. This year the only really equal opponents were Georgia, USC, Stanford, and Michigan. And he went 50% in those. And that is the norm. Kelly wins most of the games he is supposed to. But then it is a coin flip in games with equal talent and or coaching.

And a decade in. That isn’t good enough

Coach Kelly should've stayed at Cincinnati.
good call. Sort of like the good Indian, doesn't always translate to good chief

no arguments here, I'm sold...

"Another day, another big award for Notre Dame. The latest goes to quarterbacks coach Tommy Rees, who was named FootballScoop 2018 Quarterbacks Coach of the Year."

Looks like a pretty good candidate to me, (says all of the fuckers that thought Mike Bobo was good for UGA).

Take a look at the QB play this year and tell me he deserves this.....

Seriously he is Kiffin without the fame. The only reason he is getting the play he is, is because his dad was a good OC for years. And for some idiot reason people think coaching ability is genetic.

It actually may be genetic. Vince Dooley was, at best, an average HC. Erk Russell made him famous. Derek Dooley is, at best, an average coach.

Honestly I would rather have Charlie Weis Jr. Than Tommy. At least Jr has experience at that helm and has proven he can be successful.

This level of competition is not where you want someone with training wheels
