Not that it stays this way. But it made me smile thinking every 1st round playoff location is in the midwest or north.

BYU at Ohio St
Bama at ND
Georgia at PSU
Ole Miss at Indiana

College Football Playoff rankings Top 25

1. Oregon (11-0)

2. Ohio State (9-1)

3. Texas (9-1)

4. Penn State (9-1)

5. Indiana (10-0)

6. Notre Dame (9-1)

7. Alabama (8-2)

8. Miami (Fla) (9-1)

9. Mississippi (8-2)

10. Georgia (8-2)

11. Tennessee (8-2)

12. Boise State (9-1)

Currently, based on the committee's rankings, first round would be...

Boise @ Indiana
Tennessee @ ND
Georgia @ Alabama
Ole Miss @ Miami

Not sure where you got yours.

You know. From the people that made the brackets.

The problem with yours is that Boise is ranked higher than BYU giving them a 1st round BYE as the highest ranked G5 and conference championship.

Now this isn't how it is going to finish because Ohio St plays Indiana this week and most likely Oregon in a few weeks. So there is a ton of Chaos available there.

I'm simply showing what we know right now. None of us know what it will look like 3 weeks from now......including ESPN.

Edited to add: But I suppose a guy can dream, huh?

the committee ain't gonna give the B10
3 out of the 4 first round byes,
even if those were the final rankings...

That's how this works. It is always what we know as of now.

Again. We know that Ohio St still plays Indiana and most likely Oregon. Which affects 3 spots.

We can't know that for sure, though, because none of us can figure out what their criteria for rankings are this year. If you can, explain it to me because it ain't making much sense to me right now. SOS? Best win? Worst loss? Or are we just simply going best record? The committee's ranking are hard for me to wrap my head around. I say that not even being concerned where UGA is ranked. I say that because they have no one explaining their criteria. At least past committees tried to explain what they were looking for.

conf champs in the four first-round byes...

That's your opinion and I agree, but this years committee is scatterbrained as hell. They have no fucking clue what they are looking for......and apparently have no desire to explain their thought process.
lookin like you may be right -
4 sec
4 b10
ND
1 mwc
2 acc
and the b12 gets left out -

If you would have told me after week 2 that ND would still end up as most likely the 5 seed after CCG with a home game in the playoff I would have called you insane.

I hate the current portal rules and the current NIL. But I gotta admit it has dispersed the talent around the system.

Bama has no business being in the playoffs, but if they do make it, they are not consistent or disciplined enough to make a splash,, but if the Bama team that played LSU shows up, they could de-rail somebody's hopes.

With ND being projected as the likely opponent for Bama. The ND fans are worried.

Too many years of too many let downs in big games. So if that is the first round. Will be interesting to see who can shake the monkey off their back.

b10 and sec should just form their own
semi-pro league,
and the rest of us will assemble the
student-athlete league...
There’s plenty of teams, or at least fans, that would like to join you.

I’d prefer it if MSU did, but the cheap bastards that run the school will be happy to be fund the non-revenue sports, while being a punching bag in football.
