Legendary HOF and 6 time National Champion Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant coaching All American Forrest "Forrest" Gump.

Gump went on to win the congressional meal of honor for his valor in Vietnam, and served as a diplomat to China under Nixon. Hew would later game further fame for his fourX crossing of the continental United States running for World Peace, the Homeless, Women’s Rights, Animals and the Environment, and co-founder of Bubba-Gump Shrimp ICo.

He tragically died of acquired AIDS in 1994.

This was the second college football game I can remember watching, the first being almost a year earlier when ND beat Alabama to end the 1973 season. I absolutely loved that USC game. The USC comeback was unbelievable: down 24-0 at one point but USC scores 35 in the 3rd quarter and 14 in the 4th to win 55-24.
