Kelly is a good 10 win coach that will beat inferior teams. Ahd stay competitive with equal talent. But he doesn't have the coaching chops to beat superior coaching.

After he lost to Bama in 2012 he spent the next 10 years building a team to beat the team he played that night. And in the process lost the dynamic part of coaching that got him there in the first place.

Kelly in his last 3 or 4 years spent his off seasons glad handing boosters and golfing. Coaching was left to his assistants. And he had some good ones. Including the HC at both Vandy and Duke currently and the OC at Bama and the HC of the Packers. But Kelly in 2023 is not the Kelly of 2010

I'm beginning to think you know a little bit about what you've been talking about all along. Not that I really doubted you, but some of your posts came across as sour grapes, but I get it all now. At least right now. We'll see where this takes the purple corndogs.

Again. I've never said he is a bad coach. He isn't a good person. And there is plenty of stuff I can say in that regard. But that is what it is.

Last year he didn't out coach Saban. Saban had too much faith in bad coordinators. And some good breaks went Kelly's way. But honestly the only time I can tell you the only time Kelly truly outclassed a better HC is when he beat Oklahoma in 2012. And that game was tight until half way into the 4th when a good play broke it open and Oklahoma just couldn't get back in the game.

Outside of that. It was just what you saw last night. Highlight reels with an L attached to the record.

LSU fired a great coach after going 15-0 and winning a Natty. It's never going to be good for any coach that's not winning all games.
